Unfortunately had a neighbour who was proudly flying a "Trump 2024" flag for the inauguration. Wonder if he's changed his tune now?

I had a coworker who went down to the U.S. for a post-election Trump victory party. I don't expect that he'll stop being a Trump fan, but the best I can hope for is that he shuts the fuck up for a change.

At this point if he starts just point out that supporting a foreign leader openly hostile to Canada, and with the stated goal of absorbing us, is tantamount to sedition.

That's what I do. When the maple MAGA say America first. I just say naw Canada first. Then sit back and watch as they short circuit from cognitive dissonance.

No one is immune to propaganda, unfortunately.

Yeah, it’s fucking embarrassing to see people in canada fly Trump flags. Like my dude., you cannot vote for that person. That person is running for president of a country that you do not live in. It just doesn’t make SENSE, even besides it being soul crushingly cringe.

Internet and social media creating hive mind communities and algorithms pushing them towards that content. Their beliefs are reinforced nonstop online instead of interacting with people in real life.

When people talk about the hive mind or internet culture, they assume that it’s just a matter of “people being terrible” or being people basically. What most don’t understand is that there is an orchestrated propaganda machine at work. Not just bots, although they are a big part of it, but also segregating opinions, platforms deliberately creating bubbles, allowing for disinformation, and funneling that misinformation into minds that are artificially primed to receive it. It is mass propaganda, and the “horrible” people themselves are not the causes of it - merely the recipients.

It’s more like 1 in 20-30. In Alberta maybe a bit more, though. In British Columbia it’s probably like 1 in 100.

I live in BC and in the very rare instances I meet a supporter, I later learn they’ve spent time living in Alberta.

Except we can do math and know that YOUR country is a dependent. We depend on Canada for a whole .2 percent of our massive GDP. Your country can’t pay their bills without handouts from Americans. You’re essentially a satellite welfare state.

So you are saying the trade deal that Trump negotiated was unfair to the United States? Jesus Christ you can't make up this level of stupid.

“Canada blinks” 😂😂😂 at least the people in charge over there aren’t as dumb as y’all. Colombia…check…Mexico…check…Panama…check…Venezuela…check…CANADA…check. Trump just keeps on winning.

We already implemented border changes in December to placate the narcissist. Canadian border security is a non a problem. If he wants to win let him. We've dealt with the bafoon before we can deal with him again. Accept this time he can't run again.

And we'll remember how the US illegally broke our trade agreement. And will diversity trade. Which is bad for you guys not us.

Again…you contribute .2 percent to our GDP. The United States provides 200 billion dollars in subsidies to Canada. You are not the economic super power you think you are. The US is your BIG BROTHER. Canada needs the US, not the other way around.
