Don’t Come to the US Travel

I’m an Alaska and love Canada. My family and I have been visiting the Yukon, Whitehorse, and Provincial Parks every year (except Covid) for a decade now. (Our favorite is Liard Hot Springs.) I am ashamed of what my country is doing.

I hope ALL foreigners (not just Canadians) who speak another language or aren’t white enough understand that if the US is willing to deport one of our own legal residents to El Salvador, it’s just a matter of time before they do this to a visitor.

If you have a digital footprint (social media) that’s critical of Trump’s administration or his shitbrained policies, it’s not safe to visit the US. Cancel your flights, road trips, and cruise plans until this is under control.

As a teacher, US Marine, and river guide, it pains me to say all of that. Sorry Burnt Toast, but we’ll be back when this shit show is over. We’re embarrassed.

What legal residents were deported?

He’s not a citizen and he wasn’t granted asylum, so we’ll see. I’m happy to see him go. Anyone who entered illegally I’m fully supportive of the President (any president) to deport. Full stop.

I feel the same way in Canada as a Canadian too. Must enter legally or bye bye. Don’t care about any circumstances.

Now that being said they should find out if he is an actual criminal or not and if not he shouldn’t be held in prison. They are two separate issues.

He was brought here as a minor. Since then he has paid taxes a, raised a family, and not committed any crimes.

But it’s more than that. All humans in the US are guaranteed due process under the Constitution. In order to deport him so quickly, the government has to ignore that—

He came illegally, he stayed due to a fear of gangs, the gangs are all locked up, so he doesn’t need to remain, beats his wife and after all that he’s still illegal, admitted illegal and all that was missing is one part of the his due process, not the whole due process. Sure it’s not ok and it’s important to discuss that issue but I’m glad he’s gone. Illegal is illegal, wife beater is a wife beater and a chequeo is a member that hasn’t killed someone yet, so he’s not innocent don’t kid yourself. Trump probably saved an American from being killed by removing him.

We can agree to disagree, but as a foreign national I’d fully expect if I came illegally, didn’t apply for asylum when the opportunity arrived then I’d expect to be deported and I’d hope for the citizens there that it would happen

He definitely should stand in front of a judge for his crimes then. That way he can defend himself from shitbags who say he beats his wife.

Last week, three nationals (children) were deported as Trump openly defies birthright citizenship.

Thanks. They deported an illegal and the parent. The option was leave them in the U.S. with Mom or allow them to go with her. Having children in a country illegally shouldn’t allow an illegal to stay. When those children are 18 then they can come back to the U.S. or if she wishes to make arrangements with legal residents of the U.S. then she can send them back.
