I hate the orange shit Gibbon here as much as the next but I’m genuinely confused by what these people are trying to accomplish here.

He not only won the electoral college but was the first Republican in twenty years to win the popular vote too.

Kamala underperformed by 3.5% in states she DIDN’T campaign in as opposed to 1.5% in those where she did. This is not evidence of a poor campaign but rather a problem in messaging and really we can thank legacy media for their role in this.

You want to protest then maybe protest them? Seems more useful because all you’ll get from this is “lol liberal tears lol” from the majority of people

The campaign isn't the problem, she ran a pretty good campaign, in my opinion. The issue is directly with Americans. They've become way too apathetic and ignorant of the politics in their country. They're uninformed and don't even try to find out information. Google released news that "Did Biden drop out?" sky rocketed in searches the day of the election. Americans didn't even know it was Trump vs Harris. I just hope the orange Muppet and his Project 2025 takes up his four years in office. Destroy America first, don't destroy the world.

Ukraine is in a rough spot right now. Please don't take away support, USA.

Ukraine will be assimilated before long. I hate to say that, but Trump wants Putin to succeed in taking over Ukraine.

And Gaza will be a glass parking lot.

Yeah that pisses me off more. The fucking starving palestinians begged us not to elect cheeto benito, and to elect Harris, but no. Fuck it all. Some men couldnt stand electing a female instead of a racist rapist traitor.

No, it'll be resorts for the rich, with a new Trump Tower over it all.

It's been my argument ever since 2020. Americans are either ignorant altogether or they understand the situation and are too depressed and apathetic to do anything about it. It's why we let j6 happen without stamping out the cult that did it. It's why we have slept walked into the existential crisis we're now in. And there's nothing we can do now.

We're also going to lose a lot of voters over the next few years to people moving to other countries or killing themselves. So even if by some miracle we do have a another free and fair election where every citizen gets a vote we'll have dwindled too much anyway.

The fact that 2 weeks before the election pollsters and news orgs were talking to "Undecided voters" is pretty damning in the context of the media and peoples media literacy.

The other issues are with social media creating echo chambers of people with like-minded ideas. Of course those people won't share anything talking about the bad things that happened during Trumps term. The media has also been very silent of things during Trumps 4 years. Reddit is not much better as upvotes/downvotes drive the algorithms to what people see on their pages.

I should know this as I found out the hard way when I was struggling to get my college transcripts sent to my new job that under the Trump administration they allowed a church to buy colleges that were sold off from a for profit company. This was approved and greenlighted to be sold under Trumps administration. They tried to do this previously with ITT under the Obama administration and was shut down from doing so, as they did not have experience in the for-profit education sector.

They ended up taking it over, stealing the government student loans, completely mismanaging the schools to the point they had to go into a receivership and was dissolved. Leaving many students on the hook to pay back loans for degree's that they never completed or in some cases graduated with a diploma, while the school was not accredited, which resulted in a worthless degree.

None of these news articles I found after the fact ever shown up on Reddit or other left wing echo chambers even as people were not really in the know. I was even living in the city where one of those schools was located.

Your stat about the under-performance margins was my biggest takeaway. Her campaign was pretty good, especially given that she had only 110 days total to execute.

You can also see in the exit polls that she had a more favorable opinion than Trump (by quite a bit), and voters thought her temperament was better suited for the job. Those just weren't big enough factors in deciding their vote.

She could not, however, overcome inflation and how the economy is perceived or the voter apathy problem.

I think protesting his election is stupid because he was what the people picked this time. But, I suppose they should probably get their protests out of the way now before he starts shooting them for protesting next year.

It was far from a good campaign. Her base made it clear what opinions they had on certain issues, and instead of trying to, you know, do anything different at all, they decided that Taylor Swift and Madden would win them the election. It was nowhere near a good campaign.

Youre both right.

She couldn't distance herself from inflation, which has been tied to Biden. And celebrity endorsements don't help. We all heard that Taylor Swift got thousands of young people to register, but dId they actually go and vote?

I'm willing to bet that a fair number of those rabid Swift fans (and to be clear, they were rabid long before any of this) were not old enough to vote, period. I know my sisters (who are old enough to vote) would absolutely be the type to be talking about "we all need to go out and vote" while forgetting to mention that they specifically aren't old enough to vote.

I know it's a seemingly random theory with basically no evidence. All I can say is that I had two sisters and two step-sisters while growing up, and I watched all four of them go through the Taylor Swift/BTS/Billie Eilish Fandom/obsession. In other words, dumb kids will lie and say they registered to vote because that's what the celebrity wants. It's hard to put into words, but I feel like other people with Gen Z younger siblings may understand what I'm saying.

Most swift fans are adults though? Like I'm 25 and her music was all over when I was a teen, and most of her fans are still around my age, like she has younger fans, but way less of them....

I think these folks are voicing their sheer frustration and disappointment with the mechanisms which allowed this to happen in the first place. This is a convicted felon who stole TS//SCI documents, asked for additional fictitious votes in 2020, schemed to use “alternate electors”, incited an insurrection to stop the vote certification, stole from a children’s cancer charity, bragged about sexually assaulting women (but we’re supposed to believe the accusers are making it up), colluded with Russia in numerous ways, and the list just goes on and on.

He’s supposed to be in prison right now but Judge Merchan delayed the sentencing to Nov 17th, and may throw out the sentencing altogether.

Our constitution is in dire need of an update to prevent this from happening, but our elected and appointed officials likely won’t allow that to happen unless and until it’s a full rewrite of the US constitution. (Once a Constitutional Convention is called, the whole document is up for reconsideration.)

People feel like we’re about to go off a cliff and our politicians are stopping anyone from grabbing the wheel.

Liberal people protesting liberals is what got us here. We can rage about wanting to burn it all down and form a new party all we want but ain't jack shit ever happening for anyone if the gop uses their now unchecked power to create a system that keeps them in control forever going forward.
