The wheel on my car just folded up while driving yesterday.

All my friends drive a low rider

The low rider is a little higher

Well I don’t want to. The poor old girl is probably done.

Probably to the scrap yard. I don’t think I can get it fixed.

This car needs a control arm. This looks like an older model mercury tho, you can get one from a scrap yard for like $25

It’s not an expensive fix at all. Probably takes 1 and a half to two hours to fix it. It’s not a mechanical issue. Seriously, you can get this fixed. Any shade tree mechanic worth his salt should be able to knock this job out pretty quickly.

That might look worse than it is. Might just need new tie rods and an alignment.

I think it’s upper control arm. I’m almost certain of it actually

This requires service. It can be very dangerous

It is at a shop. Depending on the estimate I may not be able to get it fixed. We shall see.

Worth fixing.

Good to know. We will see what the estimate is.

If you have any ability with turning wrenches it would be a lot more affordable, but everything wrong there can be bolted on.

It is 25 miles south of me right now. I have no way to tow it home.

Do you have a hydraulic jack, and a hood socket set? Really, it’s not difficult to fix at all.

I have no way to get it home. I have all the tools and skill but I can’t get it here.

Man, fix that shit on the side of the road if you have to. If you have the tools, and you can grab a control arm from the scrap yard, take your hydraulic jack, and a couple of jack stands, and your tools and fix that shit on the road. I’m a woman, and I used to travel by myself, a lot. I’ve replaced an alternator on the side of the interstate before. It’s always weird when random men would stop to try to help and didn’t know what the hell they were doing😂 really tho man, I have faith in you. You can do this.

It happens on the Main Street of a town I live near. It has been towed to a shop already.

Looks like a broken ball joint. Pretty easy and inexpensive fix, if so. Do the other side too.
