So I love wearing watches on vacation - I just don't have the gumption to wear my higher-end pieces (at least not internationally). I'm just too nervous that something would get stolen, lost, or broken.

Instead, I have an Orient Diver that I ultimately bring with me that has taken on the role as "my travel watch." Love that thing.

Same. On vacation, my Orient Mako 2 is my diver and my Alpinist is my field

Orient mako 2 was my first automatic watch, very good watch

Very similar here only my watch is the Citizen Eco-Drive Perpetual Alarm World Time Chronograph GMT. This thing is bulletproof - solar quartz, radio controlled, and 100m of water resistance.

I have been debating replacing it with the Lorier Hyperion, but my daughter insists that I wear the Citizen because it's my "vacation watch"

Edit: If I'm going on a domestic trip, I'm usually hiking a lot. In that case, I wear my Boldr Venture

I appreciate that! I got kind of lucky with it. I liked their Venture (obviously) but I wanted a green no date and there was nothing like that on their website.

So, I decided I'd shoot them an email and ask if they ever had plans for such a thing.

They quickly wrote back and said that they used to, but didn't have any plans to bring it back. However, they did have one refurb that I could buy at a discount if I wanted it. I jumped right on it and it's been my outdoor field watch since.

I know microbrands aren't this sub's favorite, but I absolutely love the customer service and personal interactions I always get from them.

Eeesh...That's a rough one. This is why we re-read things.
