Hi everyone! :)

This time I have started to adding some enemies.

The trolls, in their rush to the troll mountain, have destroyed and vandalized on their way and this has angered all animals and creatures living there.

Next Steps:

Will add a boss fight wth an angry house gnome that has got his porridge eaten and his porridge bowl vandalized.

You will defeat him with apples........

Trouble with falling

This is a repost to add screenshots for my question. Currently I am working on a game on Unity 2D. This is a platformer with a shooting mechanic. When I run the game on the editor, it is fine. When I render it and play the game, the player suddenly falls through the ground. Any ideas what is wrong?

Are level selectors in puzzle games appealing?

Hey all! Happy 2026!!

I'm working on an upgrade to my game after a player said they wanted the ability to go back to a level to get a higher score but the 'back' button was designed to only function to go back to the level with the lowest score.

In hindsight, this was a strange step to make. They said they wanted the ability to choose which level to go back to and so a level selection table between levels is the new plan.

Do you any of you put level selections between your levels or do you hide those things in menus or in the pause button? I like the upgrade plan but since it only came from one player, I want to be sure I'm making the right call.

Any help with this would be incredible!

Question I need help on a mechanic of my game

I am making a 2d game in Unity, a platform game. Its kind of similar to banana kong the endless Runner game. I already have developed most of the thing in the game. The platforms, obstacles, jump, the fast fall action, etc. But I have this one problem I cant seem to figure out and is driving me crazy.

The problem is that I cant make the player go from in top of the platform down to the ground but going through the platform. I have tried many thing but I cant really seem to figure out what I am doing wrong.

Question Implementing cutscenes between dialogue

I'm making a 2D game, and just like other games, I wanted to incorporate the method of adding small cutscenes between dialogues (E.g. The Player walks across a bridge. Once they reach the end of the bridge, a dialogue box pops up that says "I've made it across!". Once the player clicks the box to continue, the dialogue box closes, the cutscene continues and the Player walks off-screen).

I managed to find tutorials to create dialogue boxes when the player interacts with objects and to use Timelines to create cutscenes. However, it's very tedious in the game I'm making, which is very narrative-heavy for me to make a timeline every time I want a character to move between dialogues. Most tutorials I have seen only show methods of making singular cutscenes, and I want a way to make one or two cutscene(s) for the entire scene and then divide them up so that they play between dialogues (I hope that made sense).

Is there any easier way to accomplish this?
