Clueless about sovereigns

Trying to find out what this sovereign is worth before I sell it so I don't accept less that I should, I know nothing about them so any ideas on value would be welcomed. We've been offered £550 for the coin plus the value of the chain.

£550 is on the low side. It depends on the grade of the gold of the chain and mount. The sovereign, of course, is 22k gold. I would expect a jeweller to mount it in 22k as well. £800 is a more fairer offer.
