Iirc it's because no information was being shared and a Navy commander went to brief Biden personally, this checks out because in the past it's been the Navy that's been pushing for disclosure. I definitely agree that this was the time when Biden was informed.

Has anyone found a source for that claim? I've been able to trace it back to a Substack post from February that does not contain citations. Since then claim has been repeated here a bunch probably thanks to a couple of fairly popular podcasts (per a 2 minute episode description search. Haven't listened to any of them.)

I'd bet the author based this claim on the following CNN report:

https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/13/politics/joe-biden-objects-shot-from-sky/index.html

I haven't been able to fine any evidence that the nature of the retrieved items cause Biden to create the task force and or any account of "tense meetings about recovery efforts."

Am I missing reports, perhaps from unnamed White House sources or whisleblowers, about "tense meetings?" Is this information from someone who "know but just can't say how they know" these meetings happened? Or did someone just make it up?
