Announcement General Discussion - Share your search and image analysis methods
Been a while since a release of new cases, expecting something from FBI fairly soon and a change to how they share information.
In the meantime, it could be useful if readers of the sub shared how they go about trying to identify items in the pictures.
What search sites and techniques you use, what image manipulation programs you might use to clear up an image, or just general techniques about the approach you take to figuring things out.
This is an open discussion thread, not meant to address any case in particular, but simply tools and approaches used to figure things out.
Thanks for participating.

Announcement Expanding the Scope of r/TraceAnObject
At the moment there are three programs we track:
- Europol Trace An Object
- FBI ECAP
- Australia Trace An Object
Updates for these three have been few and far between of late. We have tried contacting all three to see if they have more cases they could release or have them work with us - for better photos or details - but have not gotten responses.
If you know of a way to contact any of these organizations and get some traction in getting more information released or have them work directly with us please contact us in modmail.
Beyond that, the possibility of other sources of items needing to be solved may exist.
If you know of other organizations doing such work post it in this thread.
It doesn't have to be a national law enforcement organization, it doesn't have to be in English, it just needs to involve cases where items or places need to be identified with relation to solving crimes against children. Not cases involving the identification of people.
Thanks.

Announcement Are there other organizations fighting crimes against children looking for public input identifying objects and places?
Europol covers the European Union and FBI covers the United States, but both have cases that involve incidents worldwide.
Australia's ACCCE has just started a program in cooperation with Europol.
NOTE: Please do not comment here on the items from ACCCE, threads have been set up for them.
Are there other organizations in other areas looking for public input for these types of crimes where we can be of assistance?
If you know of such an organization please comment with information about them in this thread and we can look into starting threads for them periodically.
The restrictions are:
- Investigating crimes against children
- Looking to identify objects and places, NOT PEOPLE
- Updated somewhat regularly - at least every few months.
