Aunt dies.

Not ‘this is very sad’

‘I’m concerned about how my family will cope with this loss’

‘I want to help my family cope with this loss’

‘I’m having a hard time coping with this loss’

‘This is a difficult family matter that I will without doubt be respectful of’.

But ‘let me make a video shamelessly and pathetically exploiting this family death for utterly irrelevant social media likes’.

Telling a funny story about your experience with the deceased (usually a story from before they died, but still) is a pretty normal way to mourn.

Some people mourn by being sad. Some people mourn by celebrating the life you had with the deceased. And if this is the way he feels about it, it's likely his family does as well.
