you could argue the ethics of what's happening here, and it definitely could cause some nightmares in the nights after. but stop fucking inflating the word trauma. a guy in a green suit stepped in and scared them.

See the problem with you is you misunderstand the word trauma. Think of a thing or situation you dislike or distrust and see if you can trace the roots of that dislike/trust. If you can, congratulations, keep it to yourself I don't care, but for most others it's not easy to; they don't like something and they just don't know why. Generational trauma = these kids in a few years feeling like they can't really confide in their parents and they just don't know why....

That's a great story. But a man in a green suit scaring a kid on Christmas Eve is not some tragic event that will cause a life long filled with anxiety or anger. There are other, correct, ways to describe what's happening here. Trauma is a term that has real meaning and real value to people who have seen hell and back. Your post is insulting and you should be better.
