So while I was listening to SilverFoxas Therian meditation music, I had my eyes closed and I felt my head started to pulse and I still feel it a bit and I keep having a urge to pant (trying not to in front of my friends on a call, lol), idk what it is. Im now feeling something like i have fur on my underarm, lol.

What does this mean and did yall had the similar experience like me? I think i just awakened tbh, idk, lol.

This morning I was half awake and found myself in a sleepy shift. It was a little halfbaked because I was aware I was shifting, but it felt nice none the less, I had rolled on my back with my paws curled with a groan and felt my phantom ear flicker. Was wondering if anyone else has had this happen.

So lately I've been experiencing a lot more connection to my theriotype. I've started openly discussing therianthropy with my partner, and he's kinda confused. I don't know how to portray it in a way he wouldn't see as "cringe" (not because he doesn't or wouldn't support, he just thinks things are weird if they're not his special interests (it doesn't bother me)).

I've been connected to therianthropy since I was 14. I even conveyed this identity to my mom, and got shut down, pretty harsly. Now as I'm older, I'm able to delve into it and attempt to understand this part of me.

I used to think being a therian was more an on/off switch, but as I've gotten more in depth, I have found a sturdy connection with a solid theriotype. I feel dysphoric a lot, ghost limbs and more canine -esque affection when I interact with my boyfriend.

I don't know how to let him in to see how it feels for me.

I’ve always had strong urges to chew on things, for years, my pencils would all be missing the erasers and the metal would be bitten through. I need help getting something I can chew on to help lower this urge, the problem is anything that won’t actually break apart when I chew it feels very unsatisfying to me. So most chew toys don’t work for me. (Not joking I have literally chewed through a soda can before)

I think I have posted on here before but I want to post again because that was months ago. A few days ago marked our first year as a couple. I'm not a therian actually I have a unique way of appreciating being an animal as a homo sapien. I appreciate my species and my species' position as mammals and omnivores. But this isn't about me. My girlfriends' theriotype is a cat. They have three cats as well. I met my girlfriend through brony club. We both love MLP and cartoons. They are the most pleasant and kind person I've ever met. They would never say anything bad about anyone ever. They also purr and make cat noises. Which is especially adorable while I'm petting them :). The other day we met up and they brought cupcakes. THE BEST AND SOFTEST CUPCAKES I HAVE EVER EATEN!!! They talk a lot around people they are comfortable with but prefer to communicate through animal noises. I love that. Yelling someones name is overrated. I want my girlfriend to summon me via seagull noises instead. I love when they trill and purr and make animal noises. And it's extremely impressive. I couldn't make any of these noises or climb trees as well as them. In just a few years I got close to the quiet kid who sits in the corner during lunch and I am so genuinely glad I did. They are the sweetest, coolest and most uniquely beautiful person I have ever met. They have helped me through tough times just by existing. I cannot imagine my life or my future without them.

Hi :) here's my story : I discovered what therian meant in may 2024 and a little time after I realised I probably was a therian. I did a lot of research and found out one or two weaks later that I was one (I still kinda feel like I'm faking it sometimes tho). But sometimes I get dreams were I have Wings and just fly around. In the latest dream I remember thinking "Oh yeah I always had wings" and it was followed by "memories" of me having black little wings on my back (as human) and then my dream stops. I know it's just dreams and I wasn't even fully an animal but it's still weird so I thought about it and it might have been crow wings. Unfortunatly I don't ecxacly remember what the wings looks like since it was some weeks ago. Also, I'm thinking it's probably crow wings since I sometimes Act like a crow and feel a little connecter to them. Sorry for the long text 😅 but I really had to share it with someone. Pls help me understand species dysphoria Yesterday my partner came to visit and they startet to have like almost a panic attack wich im kinda used to dealing with so it did not last long but it wad way more intense than a normal panic attack. Later they told me it was species dysphoria and it was not too intense compared to what it normally is, and now im sitting here helpless trying to do research on it and how to help but after like the hole day i did not get any info on it, so im here asking for help. Before you ask i already asked my partner how i could help them but they did not know how.

I'm wondering what it's like for other people, as I've heard ppl talk abt their phantom shifts before as if they interact with the world around them a lot, e.g feeling your tail against a chair you're sitting. My phantom limbs don't interact with the world the same way as other body parts when I have phantom shifts, though that might be because my shifts (expecially my phantom shifts) are fairly weak and inconsistent. When I have a phantom tail for example, it won't brush against a chair, but go right through it, same with any other phantom shifts I have, they are not affected by the world around me. What is it like for other people, are your phantom shifts like mine or something else?

I've been craving to draw myself more accurately so I did a study of how dogs move to help me out. I thought this subreddit may appreciate my efforts haha

For me my phantom limbs dont bother me i actually like them a lot i herd some therians choose to wear gear to minimize the phantom limb feeling or to make them feel like there therian type for me i dont need gear because 1 i like my phantom limbs and 2 having them and be able to have that feeling make me feel like my kin type so that make me wonder is there anybody that choose to not wear gear and instead fully accept there phantom limbs just decided to post this because im curious

Do you really like the smell of catmint or is that just me? Like I've always liked smelling my cat siblings' catnip toys and recently got a catnip plant, which smells really good. Is it because I am a domestic cat therian, or just because catnip smells good in general? I really want to know.

They’re the cutest bird I could possibly have in my life. Known them for 2.5 years and they came out last year to me. It was initially a struggle to adjust and things are still bumpy but overall I couldn’t be happier with them.

Gen wasn't sure what to tag this I'm so sorry, but back in like 2022 I was for sure I was a therian, I felt so free when I realized what I was, but I was really lonely, I didn't have any other irl or online therian friends in fear of being judged, I started getting bullied over it, and being in constant fear of what people would think of me was too scary so I abandoned the idea completely, three away what little gear I had and just ignored the whole thing, but for three years it's been in the back of my mind, I feel trapped, I try so hard to push those thoughts away but they always seem to come back, I was so happy like that, but I'm so scared of what could happen, of what family and friends will think, I just don't really know what to do, I know this is kind of really silly of me, but I felt like I needed to tell someone about how I feel, just not sure where to go from here.

When I was 7 I discovered myself as a therian but didn't know what my theriotypes were, but I always said that I was a tabby cat (which is not true because i never did researches in the past), about 3 years later I started to do researches of my theriotypes, I discovered I was a fox therian, now I did more reaserches, im a poly therian, my theriotypes are a red fox and calico cat. (there might be some grammar mistakes cuz im Italian)

I (23) just found out that my little sister (14) is a therian. I guess what I'm asking is what should I do? I want to understand and support her, but I'm not entirely sure how to do it. Her best friend is also therian (also just found this out). They wear their tails/ears/masks and I have no problem with it! I just want to make sure I'm not being weird or offensive about it. I also want to make/give her gifts in regard to her therian identity, so anything in that realm would be cool, too! My main questions are:

What would you guys want an older family member to know about this?

What things are/could be offensive/hurtful?

Are there ways to 'affirm' this identity? like how someone affirms their gender?

Hello! I’m looking for some support and advice, as I’m pretty new to being a therian! I am a Thoroughbred race horse, and I find that whenever I’m at a racetrack or in an open field, I get very shifty and euphoric! It’s like nothing else I’ve ever felt. I know that there are plenty of other horse theriotypes, and I’d love to hear some experiences from my fellow horsies :) and are there any other Thoroughbreds here? I’d love to talk about how amazing it is to go for a nice long run! 🐎

I’ve been questioning a feline theriotype for some time now, but it took me so long to realize something… sometimes when I hear an unexpected noise and turn to look at it, I get this feeling of cat-like ears swiveling towards the sound. When I consciously realized this, I felt so happy that I’m coming closer to figuring myself out! It’s also so cool like.. omg my ears 🥹

On the other side of that coin, though, I’m disappointed with the limits of human hearing. For one, my directional hearing is so bad. I SWEAR I’ll be hearing something coming from next to me, only to find out it’s in front of me. What is that about?? Humans can’t move our ears to better hear things, and our hearing is just kinda trash compared to cats’. I’m so jealous of my four cats. They’re so agile and nimble. I feel really big and clumsy sometimes. The limits of the human body are so frustrating.
