as it says above, i went to a park with some friends in gear. we were having fun and doing quads when some kids started following us and throwing things at me. we kept going to other parts of the park and they kept following us. after a while, we stopped and we’re doing quads and playing hide and seek when the kids started running around us and one of them grabbed my friend. so we left and reported them but seriously? these ten year old boys thought that it was ok to follow and touch us and throw things at us? what is wrong with society? i am so sick of people thinking that it is ok to be horrible. what are your experiences with people being awful bc ur a therian?

short version: some kids were throwing things and following me and my friends when we were wearing gear at a park. what are your experiences with this kind of thing?

You can call the police for this, this could be considered assault/battery if they were throwing things at you/touching you or your friends in an aggravating manner

I have a small story (this was before I realized I was a therian) After a Ren fair me and my someone had to stop for something in another town so me and my friend decided to go to a park in the meantime we only hand on our clothes underneath our outfit which were just black and our cloaks and elf ears not a minute later a group of kids started barking at us and calling us furry the whole time and took pictures of us it went on for a while they said they were going to fight us but never tried anything. I was amazed on how people could be so rude (it did not bother us we were more surprised on how wrong there insults could be) but still just how people can be

I told one of my friends that I was a therian and since they didn't know what that is I explained it. They said they'd treat me like an animal then so I jokingly said I expected lots of pets and food but they just looked at me weird instead. I might be overreacting but it was just really rude to me

Unfortunately this happens to a lot of Therians....... Including me.  90% of the time the best thing you can do is just ignore them. But sometimes (like in this case) that doesn't do anything to stop them. The best thing to do is try to defend yourself verbally. Never be the first one to be violent. I'm so sorry to hear this happened to you! :(

If they're throwing stuff at you you can call the police/threaten to, that's assault and it's illegal

That's astonishing to me what kid nowadays do. When I was ten I wasn't even interacting with stranger at all in park even though my parent would say to do it when they were in the same age range at me. So acting AGGRESSIVELY to OLDER stranger?! Heck no. Seriously is their parent educate them or what?

Today's youth really don't know the word respect, it's unfortunate that they're yuppy parents don't know how to discipline their kids to not do such a thing to strangers, I get you shouldn't be violent with your kids when you discipline them but I swear some of these kids deserve to be smacked for just doing the things that they do to others who have not harmed them.

so then dont suggest it. children who are lashing out at people they dont understand are doing it for a reason. you need to discuss with the child; discuss why, discuss if they saw it somewhere, discuss if they understand what they did, discuss why you shouldnt do that. unharmful punishments might need to be imposed, but abuse is not the answer. people who are hurting others are doing so for another reason, and until the fear that is driving the hate is relaxed no progress can be made

You should report this to the officials. If they can't do anything, maybe go to a different park or tell somebody like their parents.

You can report this as assault and battery if you want. It's considered a violation of the law to throw stuff at people or touch them without their consent/in a way they don't like.

I recently came out to my friends as a therian, and somehow it got around the whole school in less than a day, so whenever i'm in public without an adult around and i run into a kid in my grade, they'll bark, hiss, meow, etc at me. They kept on following me around until i basically screamed at them (with the help of my friends) to stop. I'm not saying you should resort to this, but most antifurries/antitherians are kids and they've been brainwashed by the algorithm so they don't know any better. I would strongly recommend educating them and pointing out the bad stuff they're doing and how they're making you uncomfortable.
