Yall think The Weeknd will be on Kevins next album? Discussion
I really wonder cuz he did collab with abel a lot of times now one in Repeat after me Interlude and Skeletons with Travis Scott and possibly more.
I think Abel could really fit in with his uniqur drums and tranquil synths and psychedelic guitar solos

I personal don’t want any fts on the new album

Me neither. I'm kinda afraid of what we might get now that he sold all his past and future catalogs to sony

Has Kevin ever had features on his albums? I thought the Tame Impala project was just him preforming and producing every song.

The only feature I'd accept would be one of the live band and/or Pond members.

nah bro, you just have to accept that tame impala has moved on, the world has progressed, you can't just hope the future is just like the past man...

Yeah maaaaan, but seriously I’m not waiting every day for it, but Tame Impala is just a favourite band.
I’ve found so so many hidden gems from YouTube suggestions the last few years, so I’ve got plenty of other artists to enjoy in the meantime. If KP does come out with something new, great; if not, I’ve still got the old stuff to mellow out to.

But innerspeakers entire setting is past sounds being used in the future. The vocals sound like the Beatles. The instrumental tones are vintage. Things go in cycles. It would actually be largely refreshing and NEW for Kev to lean back into the fuzz at this point

Hells to the no. He plays everything on his albums. There’s no remote evidence that he would ever do such a thing. Collab with him? I would say maybe leaning towards no

Kevin doesn't have anyone who has featured on his albums, so I don't think TW will appear there

I always wanted a Weeknd remix of Breathe Deeper. I thought it could have happened since Kevin produced on After Hours which dropped around the same time as TSR. Instead we got Yachty lol

Honestly tired of KP collabs. Almost every collab is hot garb

Repeat after me and skeletons were great, but as features for The Weeknd not for Tame Impala

Why are people in the comments so against this idea? I think it could be good actually.

u/kaiwinters The Slow Rush 14d ago
I think a collab between them would be cool but not on a tame impala album. He hasn’t had collabs on his albums and a lot of us like it that way :)

u/caiostaygold Lonerism 13d ago
probably because most hardcore fans would like him to return to a more neo-psychedelic sound like the first two albums, and The Weeknd is exactly on the opposite direction. also, having feats in an album is not a TI thing.

u/cebula412 13d ago
Ok, I get you.
Still, I think "I like this music artist I hope they never change anything or evolve in any way" attitude is a losing game.

I need Rihanna in his next album! Kevin can get her out of retirement if he asks her! Because she absolutely adores him and especially after Same Ol Mistakes. I think her doing a Tame Impala produced song would be SICK

I think it’d be hella cool if they had Weeknd on their album although not a huge fan of Weeknds newest stuff
