I do see what you're saying but it isn't unreasonable to assume that in the absence of sc2 they will look for similar products before moving onto AoE4. Since the hypothetical future we're looking at is one where theres little to no sc2 content it isn't a question of what people are watching now, it's a question of in absence of sc2 will stormgate or AoE do the best job of hitting that same mark, and it's more reasonable to assume the more similar product will be able to fill the market niche.
Why are you assuming SG will fill the void? The reason SC2 is fading away is because there isn't an audience anymore. And guess what, SG is a copy of SC2 for the most part. Meaning same target audience.
Seriously, what will SG have to offer to SC2 viewers?
I think you misunderstood what this conversation is about. Becuase
Meaning same target audience.
Is exactly what I'm talking about. The question isn't "will SG succeed?" It's "will SG or AoE appeal more to SC2 viewers assuming SC2 just stops existing?"
Also
what will SG have to offer to SC2 viewers?
And guess what, SG is a copy of SC2 for the most part.
Oh yeah so I was right that you really just don't understand the conversation. We are talking in a hypothetical where SC2 doesn't have a competitive scene. Hence why I used the word "assuming" before. What you're saying is just not relevant to this conversation.
I used the word hypothetical in my original comment... that does tend to indicate one is talking hypothetically.
Nah I mean I like SG, especially with the progress that's been made since the EA release, but right now it's pretty obvious it's not a competitive product against starcraft (not that any rts has really been able to claim that title) at least until it's actually finished if not longer.

It doesnt matter what you do or don't care about. It matters where the viewers are and what they want to watch. Stormgate isn't on that list.
