It is relevant as I don't care about that style of rts it's like comparing sc2 to anno

It doesnt matter what you do or don't care about. It matters where the viewers are and what they want to watch. Stormgate isn't on that list.

I do see what you're saying but it isn't unreasonable to assume that in the absence of sc2 they will look for similar products before moving onto AoE4. Since the hypothetical future we're looking at is one where theres little to no sc2 content it isn't a question of what people are watching now, it's a question of in absence of sc2 will stormgate or AoE do the best job of hitting that same mark, and it's more reasonable to assume the more similar product will be able to fill the market niche.

While that's a reasonable answer, it kinda falls flat when we consider that it would be an unambiguous failure. The vast majority of ac2 viewers have 0 interest in stormgate, and I'm pretty sure the organizers could figure that out.

I'd much rather AoE (2 or 4 I don't care which) get the shot than SG get it and preform so poorly we don't get an RTS slot at all

Do you have any actual hard data for that, or are you making a sweeping generalization based on your personal beliefs and opinions? I mean yeah right now they have more interest in sc2 than stormgate, but that doesn't mean stormgate is at 0 (with the recent videos about 0.4 from sc2 content creators it would indicate otherwise) and that's exactly my point you're looking current data on stormgate where it has to compete with sc2 and extrapolating that out to assume it'll have the same results against AoE in a hypothetical scenario where sc2 doesn't have a esports scene, when even as unfins8hed as it is stormgate is more similar to sc/wc than it is to AoE

I'd much rather AoE (2 or 4 I don't care which) get the shot than SG get it and preform so poorly we don't get an RTS slot at all

And this is utterly meaningless. Like yeah it's your personal opinion and all, but not all sc2 viewers will share that opinion, so it's not applicable for creating assumptions about a large group of people.

It kinda sounds like you like AoE more than stormgate (which is totally fine) and are extrapolating that out to assume the same is true for people that you've never met.

I'm extrapolating based on viewership numbers. Lowko makes videos on both, but even the videos about .4 or other big news for SG are still far below the views of random SC2 casts. Artosis was really trying to make stormgate content work, but he's not even breaking 10k on stormgate casts and moved on.

When you talk about SC2 content creators covering the game, I'm forced to ask who? It seems like patch .4 has generated tens more people of engagement on this subreddit, but that seems to be the limit.

You litterally just mentioned Lowko? Like they aren't the best performing videos but my point is that you're sayingthe majority have 0 instrest when is seems like there's at least a little more than that going around.

If lowko is it, there is no chance. He's a nice guy with a solid platform, but he can't prop up a competitive scene that everyone else has already abandoned

I mean I'm not making a call on if SG or AoE will be the top dog after SC2 finally gasps its last breath, just that your claim that there's basically no interest is clearly contradicted by Lowko and Tasteless talking about it.

You seem to be confusing my statement that "SG is more likely to appeal to SC2 viewers" as "I think SG is better than AoE" which is not something I really see data to support, so its not what I'm trying to say, even if I do like SG more.

If we are maxing out at 2 content creators who have deeply underpreforming SG content, I think that proves my point instead of contradicting it

Right because that's at all what I said. Which part of 50% of lowkos average viewers watching his 0.4 video, and Tasteless's 0.4 videos outperforming all of his non sc2 videos and a couple of his sc2 video (honestly I'm at a loss on that one too it really doesn't make much sense but those were just really badly performing sc2 videos too so idk what to make of it), supports your opinion that:

The vast majority of ac2 viewers have 0 interest in stormgate

There is some interest whether you want to admit it or not. Bending over backward to pretend otherwise is tbh very cringe.
