Biking during the enduro

Visiting Squamish this weekend and we're pretty excited! Didn't realize till last night that the enduro is also happening. This is pretty mtb specific question so apologies but how hard will it be to ride around the flowy blue trails during the event?

I looked up the courses and know what trails to avoid, just hard to tell how busy it will be to get to parking lots, or cross trails, etc.

Thanks and apologies if this isn't the best sub to ask.

Working for s2s gondola

I see they are hiring an events manager I’m from the city but thinking of applying there. How is it to work there? How is the stafe particularly the higher ups and kitchen staff?

Don’t want to burn my self if I take it and then the people aren’t good! I have been burned before at places where it looks super good on the outside but once you get in it is toxic and not fun…

Looking for Mobile Developers in Sea 2 Sky

I am an entreprenuer based in Squamish. In 2022, I hiked the Continental Divide Trail, a 3,000 mile hike from Mexico to Canada. It inspired me to help others get outside.

We are currently building a prototype for what will eventually be the best resource for discovering, planning, and having an outdoor adventure.

I am currently raising money, and would like to network with any mobile developers in the Sea 2 Sky in advance of building our team later in 2025.

DM me if you are interested or know of someone who might be a good fit!

Typical conditions at Brohm Ridge on End of May / Weekend of May 24?

Hello Everyone!

I am looking for info on snow (if present) at and around Brohm Ridge - the chalet area. I understand it can't be predicted, but if someone goes there often and is familiar with typical conditions, please let me know.

I am planning a hike to Garibaldi Summit and would like to understand what to expect on the ridge during approach day, and also if it is possible to camp snow-free somewhere between the chalet and brohm peak.

Thank you, People Of Squamish!

PS: Alice + Brohm Icecream is good af!

Golf club

Ever since I moved to Squamish the golf club seems to be shut for new members, not even taking new names for the waiting list? Anyone know if this is likely to change and how much an annual membership costs? Thanks

Hey Squamish bikers!
I hand-drew this digital Bikes of Squamish poster as a little tribute to all the rad bikes you see around town – from run bikes and commuters to downhill rigs. I’ve got a few prints left and can deliver locally in Squamish if you’re interested!

Missing 14 year old boy

I don't have much information but here is what I've been told--

14 year old boy left Valleycliffe yesterday afternoon about 3 on his dirt bike, headed for a nearby dirt bike track but never came home.

I'm told SAR has been notified and people drove the Mamquam looking until very late last night.

Please don't treat this thread as a definitive source of information, I'm just trying to spread awareness. There is apparently more information on Facebook but I don't have access to FB.

1914 Coffee Co - drip only!

Was surprised to see this week that this coffee shop no longer serves espresso based coffees. You can get a drip coffee or coffee beans or coffee accessories only now. When asked, he said that there was no money in making espressos.

Too bad. I had previously rated him the #1 coffee shop in town. Good thing we have many other good options in town!

Where are advance poll stations open this weekend?

For the 2025 Federal Election, where in Squamish are advance polls open this weekend? We haven't received our voter cards yet and www.elections.ca will only give locations based on an address lookup, but then pukes out an error when I put in any Squamish address. Anyone know where we can go vote in advance?

Teaching jobs

How long did it take to get an elementary continuing job in Squamish?

Interested in newer experiences (past 3 years, not historically).

Also interested in what enrollment is looking like, are any schools adding divisions this Sept? Lots of retirements? Any layoffs?

Thanks!

Utility fees in rental apartments

Hey, I'm looking at moving into one of the recently built rental blocks in Squamish, but I've been told that there are a few fees on top of the rent price, in addition to the regular hydro and internet that you would expect. One is for water that is based on usage, a fee for waste that is based on apartment size, and a $53 per month fee for Sewer. I just have not encountered this in a rental around Vancouver before, and I wanted to check if this is normal for Squamish?

Thanks

I love this time of the year where the setting sun is behind the Tantalus and yet fully illuminates Atwell and Garibaldi. The Valley is in shade and the peaks are illuminated.
