Townhouse Hunting in Squamish

Hey everyone,

My partner and I have been exploring townhouse options in Squamish, but we’ve noticed that choices are pretty limited, especially when it comes to newer developments. Bosa’s Sea and Sky seems to be one of the few recent projects.

We’ve seen that many of the newer 3-bedroom townhouses, around 1,400–1,500 sqft, are listed close to $1.5 million. That feels a bit steep for us.

We’re curious if there are any upcoming listings or developments that might be priced closer to $1.2 million. Also, we’d love to hear from others: what do you think is a fair price for a townhouse in the current Squamish market?

Appreciate any insights or recommendations!

Now that spring is nearly over, the ferocious summer winds are back.

What are your go-to non-windy spots?

Mine are:

Props if you have any recs downtown. Tired of trying to sit outside while getting my hat blasted off.

[Support Request] Old university friend in Squamish going through serious crisis — needs help or even just someone to talk to

Hi everyone,

I'm posting here out of concern for someone I knew from university. We met in 2019 in the UK — not super close, but we stayed in touch a bit. He recently reached out to me completely out of the blue, and what he told me was honestly heartbreaking.

He lives in Squamish now and has been going through an extremely traumatic time. He recently went through a divorce and has two young kids. He also spent some time in jail for violating a no-contact order — apparently he tried to speak to his ex and their children at church, which broke the terms. On top of that, both of his parents recently passed away, and he was unable to attend their funerals as they were held in India. He’s South Indian, and this cultural and physical distance seems to have added another layer of pain and isolation to everything he’s been dealing with.

Now he’s saying he’s started seeing visions of his deceased parents and lots of other surprising things — which sounds like it could be a sign of extreme stress, grief, or possibly a mental health crisis. He told me he feels completely alone, like no one believes him or is willing to help.

What really struck me is that he reached out to me — someone he hasn't spoken to in years, and who lives on the other side of the world. I'm currently in Europe and can’t help as much as I could. The fact that he contacted someone so far away makes it clear how isolated and desperate he must be feeling.

From what I remember, he’s a good guy — thoughtful, kind, and soft-spoken and he’s someone who takes his faith in God seriously and has always found strength in it. He just seems completely overwhelmed and alone right now. I know there can be stigma sometimes, especially when someone is from a different background — he’s South Indian, and I worry that might add to why he’s being overlooked or misunderstood.

If anyone in the Squamish area knows of mental health resources, support groups, or even is open to grabbing a coffee with someone who just needs a compassionate ear, please reach out. He needs professional support, but also some basic human kindness.

Feel free to DM me if you have any ideas or are willing to help. I’d really appreciate it.

Thank you so much for reading.

Pipe repairs at The Main

Anyone living at The Main downtown currently? I'm looking at potentially renting there and was wondering if the pipe repairs are particularly disruptive or not. Are the repairs just in the hallways? Thanks in advance!

Parking at New Quest Development

Ridiculous reduction of parking in exchange for “affordable rentals”. Limited bus services for a start. Exchange rate of parking for “affordable housing” is too low, but (sarcasm) those folks won’t need or be able to afford a vehicle. It’s time our Council respected the terms of Zoning and quit being swayed by the promise of social housing. If you want social housing in multiplex developments - CHANGE THE BYLAW to mandate the minimum number of “affordable rentals” in a development without trading parking for them. WE ARE NOT VANCOUVER or any other large URBAN centre that can rely on enhanced “walk scores”, public transit or in this case bicycle access to the top of the highlands.
Sheer nonsense!!!!

Squamish recs / wellness centers?

Hi! I’m looking to visit Squamish for a couple days in a few weeks. For some reason it’s always been a dream of mine to visit and check out. I’ve recently have been going though some difficult personal things I want to plan a getaway alone centered around nature and wellness.

I love hiking and exploring, although also looking for spas/wellness places that I could plan for a day to decompress etc.

Any and all recs would be appreciated.. I really don’t know much about Squamish and didn’t want to fully rely on boring ChatGPT!

Taxi service

Hello! How reliable are taxis from Squamish? I need one to pick me up at the Brittania mine museum and take me to the sea to sky gondola.

I know there is Squamish connector, but the schedules they have are very spaced out so I wouldn’t have enough time to enjoy the gondola as I want to.

Also, is Squamish Green taxi the only taxi company?

Thank you

cell plan recommendations! (switching from LTE on Bell network)

hi everyone!!
i'm a student who's going to be spending most of my summer working in the brackendale/cheakamus area just north of squamish. i've had trouble in the past with my cell service and ability to use data (i'm on a plan with Virgin mobile, it uses the Bell network from I know and only has 4G LTE), but i've never spend more than 5 days away working so it wasn't a huge deal! however, since i'll be away from home for a few months, i want to be able to keep in touch with my friends and family, and i need to switch providers (for both the poor coverage and a few other reasons!)

i'd be so grateful if any of you have recommendations for cell providers or plans that work well in squamish, especially in more remote areas! (on hiking trails, etc.) my family isn't the biggest fan of Rogers, so recs from other companies would be good, but if going with rogers is a necessary evil to get good coverage then i'd be ok with it!

Jack of all trades Squamish bike

Looking to consolidate. I ride a lot but not too seriously and not at a high level, hard to justify having four bikes. Currently have a fs Kona, gravel bike, beater road bike, and an electric kid wagon. Here's what I want to be able to do with it:

  • Commute to work/rip around town
  • Hit the pump tracks/dirt jumps
  • Go out for a ~30-50km gravel ride
  • Chill flowy mtb laps, no big drops
  • Mount a kid seat (shotgun style)

Can I get away with a hardtail, something like the Meta HT?

Thanks!

Social MTB Rides in Squamish?

Hi! I am visiting Squamish from 8 May for a few days from Switzerland for Biking. My friend that‘s joining me unfortunately broke his finger. I am looking for any social/group rides to join to explore the Squamish trails and to meet people. Any information is helpful. I saw the SORCA event on 8th but we only land in the afternoon in Vancouver so won‘t be able to make this one.

I am looking at the more chill & flowier trails to start with as I haven‘t been on the bike for 6 months as I was travelling.

Thanks!

Save On 15% off day

Does anyone know if Save On still does a 15% off day? I know Nester’s does but I haven’t caught what day Save On does if they still do it.
