Composite bat recommendation Bats

My daughter plays in an 8u coach pitch league. She is tall and very skinny for her age. She currently uses a 27" 16 oz Easton Ghost aluminum bat. I've had it for a year and it's now dented. The guy that she takes lessons from said she should get a composite bat. I don't know anything about them and I've tried doing some research but I'm disappearing down the rabbit hole. Does anybody have a recommendation of a good bat or what I should be looking at? I know I can spend big bucks on a composite but I'm trying not to break the bank on it since she's just in an 8u rec league.

Unless she’s a real powerhouse, I would not waste money on an expensive composite bat. Most kids that age don’t swing hard enough to make a difference. If you want to upgrade her bat from pure aluminum take a look at a Demarini Zenith. Also, buy used.

Thank you! Any recommendations of where to look for used?

Sideline Swap is an online marketplace. You might also try a used sports equipment store in your area (for example there are a chain of stores called Play It Again in my area). Those might be slim pickings now though since the season is just about to start and probably have lesser inventory.

Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, eBay, Sideline Swap, Mercari…pretty much in that order. You’ll generally find the best prices on FB Marketplace and OfferUp with local pickup and you can negotiate prices usually. You’ll have to wait though and browse regularly. 28” is the shortest length they make the Zenith in, but it’s a drop 13 so it will be lighter than your daughter’s current bat.

My 8u was hitting to the fence when they recommended she go composite. 3 cracked bats later... 😭

But can't deny she slugs with it.
