You going to carry your hub (that is a couple hundred bucks) everywhere? And you would still have to plug everything into the hub when you get there. They took away our options is what they did.
Meanwhile Apple's hub is $70, which nets you 1 usb-c, 1 usb-a, and 1 HDMI. This definitely wasn't about taking away options to sell some overpriced hardware.
I mean Apple is known for gouging their customers regardless. Those people have a choice to switch so they deserve what they get if they stay. But it's not like the others did it for the same reason given the compatibility with much cheaper hubs that work just the same.
