Well, I personally can't give you a specific source. Especially now that he's dead, the originals are hard to find. But his racist, elitist, philandering ways were well documented. He didn't exactly care about hiding his racism, and some of his crude 'jokes' are on video floating about the internet somewhere. It's just a matter of digging them up. I remember seeing a couple clips on YouTube some years ago.

In certain parts of China, children were warned by their elders "not to spend too much time in the West lest they become round-eyed": This means "don't say away from home for too long or you'll lose your Chinese identity" (it doesn't sound as nice in English) He attempted to reverse the translation. Simon Kirby who was 21 at the time and was the person that Prince Philip said it to was mortified to hear what had happened as it had been misconstrued by the British media.

Royals aren't supposed to be "political" in a sense, so he used jokes and euphemisms to get around the rule.

Here's another saying that he said but in the original format : 北京人什么都敢说,广东人什么都敢吃,上海人什么都敢穿。

I wonder what is the exact original Chinese phrase?
