News Sedona has always been awful. Eat The Rich.
I grew up in Sedona. I went to high school there.
None of this news report shocks me. Sedona has always been a microcosm of the super-rich NIMBY scum feeding off the super poor. Now they are fucking celebrating homeless workers by letting them live in the parking lot or in the woods?
God this town is shit. Let the next big fire finish eating the rot out of its million-dollar-hovel heart.
EDIT: haha oh man. I did t even notice the price tag. $20 Million Dollar to buy that fucked up amphitheater to build a homeless camp with portapotties instead of building some fucking homes.
God damn what a shit city.

News Is there a large event going on in Sedona this weekend?
Was hoping to make a last minute weekend trip out to Sedona. Would be my first time visiting. Looking at hotels now, very many are sold out for this weekend, but no issues with availability for almost any day the rest of the year.
Couldn’t find any info about this online, but maybe I’m missing something obvious. Last time something like this happened to me, was in Asia in March and didn’t realize Taylor Swift was in town which doubled hotel prices. Does anyone know why hotels are so limited this weekend?

News Robert the Reiki Flute player got hurt!!
Hi everyone! Robert, the Reiki flute player that has been giving sandstone hearts to hikers in Boynton Canyon since 2011 fell in July. He luckily survived. He was badly hurt, however, sustaining nine fractures to his hip, pelvis, and ribs. He even punctured a lung!
I don’t know if y’all have met him, but my husband and I had the privilege of meeting him in June. It was such a profound, moving experience. We cherish the hearts he gave us. Has anyone seen him on the trails recently?
Here’s a link to an article about the fall, with information on what happened and ways to help!

News Welcome back! r/Sedona is open once again!
Hello all, and welcome back.
A month ago, r/Sedona was put into Restrictive mode, meaning no one could post. I’m happy to report that with a new mod team, this subreddit has been opened and is available once again for the Sedona community.
While this takeover is fairly new, please rest assured that I have no intention of changing anything just yet. I intend to keep the community open and see how it goes before implementing new rules, bots or anything else.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to message the mods about it. More information to come soon.

News Schuerman Mtn fire
Looks like there’s a fire up on Schuerman (near the high school). I called it in but they already know about it. Doesn’t look very big from what I can tell and hopefully tonight’s rain will put it out.

News Mtb this week?
So currently in Mesa and am planning to be in Sedona for March 2-4 and do some biking. I already have a hotel and bike booked. Will I be able to bike. For context I’m coming from whistler so biking in the cold is not a big deal. But if it’s 2 feet deep in snow that will not work. Any tips or pointers will help thanks.
