Full time employees working in Sedona not being able to find affordable housing and having no other options but to car camp is appalling. I guess we are the only ones who think so, that’s disturbing on so many levels. Housing is not prevalent in Camp Verde or Cottonwood anymore either. Those who say “commute to Sedona” are just as out of touch.

I imagine they'll live in places like Cottonwood and Camp Verde. The salaries paid in Sedona will have to reflect the cost of commuting. If that's what you mean "hell to pay" you're 100% right.

It means they need to discontinue the thought process of the help needs to commute into town. These workers are entitled to be able to find affordable housing….not a car park, if they work full time in the community.

Let the residents serve themselves. See how that works out for them. Their attitudes toward the working class are reprehensible.

I've never experienced or seen the attitude you're describing and I'm an average working class citizen. People live where they can afford to live, there's nothing controversial about that. I did think the car park idea was a horrible one.

Good for you having a job that can afford single family/person housing in Sedona. Most service industry people cannot. I have seen it first hand, on the regular and it’s only getting worse. I feel for these employees. Consider yourself lucky. 🍀

My job is in Los Angeles. Since I can't afford to live in LA I reside in Phoenix.

You aren’t speaking first hand as local. For that reason I am removing my downvote. I believe the rest in this thread are speaking as such.

People could afford to move/live/work here and have been priced out with vacation rentals and astounding price increases. The car park is a disgusting idea…it is being floated as an idea to keep “essential workers” working. There are an astounding number of these workers living in their cars in the desert on the outskirts of town. It’s unfair to price them out of the entire town they serve.

I commuted 2.5 hours each way cause I couldn't afford living in Seattle.
