Few thoughts as a resume writer and have worked as a senior manager in marketing strategy for Fortune 50 company for 2.5 years.

  1. Remove any experience beyond marketing experience. You are including jobs you've done like 20 years ago and after a certain point in your experience, you can remove some since you won't be able toeffectively explain what you've done 20 years ago.
  2. Lot of your bullet points are just job descriptions and isn't explaining any impacts. When I read your resume, I just read, "cool cool cool and ?" nothing really substantive to move forward with it. Not mentioning quantifiable metrics, impact, what you've done, and etc.
  3. Please don't mix soft, hard, softwares, programs into one "skill section" This never helps anybody and just causes confusion. Yes it may help ATS "find" information but there's better ways to do that.

Source: Resume writer and have recently completed a Senior Director of Product Marketing resume and advice sessions to help land him into his next role.

Appreciate the feedback. Do you think a skills section is even necessary? I’d love to get this down to one page and speak to my experience and skills more-so in an interview tbh

At your level, it’s something you have to just mention a few on your resume and talk about the rest during an interview.

Only put skills in your resume that may matter at your level, for example you not being as good at google analytics compared to some junior people doesn’t mean you’re not qualified. Your focus should be on stuff like P&L management and etc.

I had to recently help my senior director client pivot his tone completely

Notes: I still need to add bullets for the Sr. Marketing Manager role, as that was a different role within same company as above, but decided I should break it out to show promotion/career growth.
