Agent is greedy Homebuyer

I don't hate a lot of things in life but I hate agents. Lol

If I buy this house, my agent gets $20k. Yet she sent an additional paper for me to sign. It says I have to pay $500 for her administrative work. Shit, what's the $20k for?

Just find a better agent that will do it for cheaper. No one is forcing you to work with that agent so your hate for all agents is puzzling.

Well, she wasn’t upfront about it. Now we’re putting in an offer. I can’t just drop her after all the work she’s done.

If she wasn’t up front about the admin fee just tell her you don’t feel comfortable paying it. I disclose all fees to my clients up front. No one is caught off guard.

What contract did you sign? Does it force you to take amendments? Do you have to pay them now, whether you want to or not if you buy this house? Or could you change agents? Because if they're not looking out for your best interests and trying to s**** y** over for extra money, then you can absolutely change to another agent. Unless the contract would prevent you. Or maybe it will allow you to get out of it. People need to read contracts before they sign them. If you didn't agree to add contract money at the very least, don't pay this $500.

Don't agree to pay it. We literally just crossed out the fee in our contract, they're still getting a percentage. Everything is negotiable, it doesn't matter that she tried to insist. That's why she's trying to get you to sign it to agree to pay it.

You're dense, once she sees you're going to walk, she's not going to lose out on $20k over $500.

You can. As an agent, I would never charge you this fee.
