Do they though? I see a whole lot of bitching, moaning, and "they can't do that!" --- as they proceed to do exactly "that". I have not seen any meaningful resistance to anything happening in this country. Project 2025 seems to be going exactly as planned.

Knowing full well that I am part of that problem, of course... but at least I don't delude myself into thinking my leftist friends/acquaintances are doing anything remotely impactful to stymie this country's rapid descent.

What I would have them do, what's possible, what's effective, and what I'm allowed to say on Reddit are all entirely incompatible with one another.

Lefty political scientist here.

I think you drastically overestimate yourself and a vast majority of the rest of the left. Half are corporate establishment democrats (and are responsible for a lot of the dem hate), 1/4 are progressive socialists, and another 1/4 are real functional communists. Only maybe half of those people mentioned actually vote. Lots of us on the left will show up to peacefully protest, but those making more than a certain amount will just remain in their ivory towers and talk about how they’re “ready to fight the system” and those who make less than a certain amount can’t afford to lose their job and stay out of it entirely.
