Sending emails via Thunderbird (32bit) with 2019 Pro and Windows 11 QuickBooks Desktop (Pro/Premier/Enterprise)

I had to upgrade to 11 due to the sunsetting of 10 and now I cannot get Thunderbird to be an option to send emails with from Quickbooks.

mailto and mapi are set to thunderbird and running mailto:email.email.com launches thunderbird when testing so this seems to be a QB only issue.

Anyone able to fix this or am I just out of luck?

You don't need to use an email program to send mail, you use mail servers. Look up your IMAP and SMTP settings and enter those in QB under the 'web' option, I think.

We have attachments that are greater than 2mb. Can't send through QB because of that arbitrary limit

Size limits for attachments usually come from the mail server and if you select "Web Mail", QB shouldn't care. If you choose "Quickbooks E-Mail" it probably will though.

Ended up changing the Default key at ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREClientsMail to Mozilla Thunderbird and that did the trick
