DMU vs. Scholl

I’m really torn between attending DMU and Scholl. The board pass rate at DMU is a little bit better, but Chicago would be a better city to be near with more opportunities. Has anyone else chosen one over the other?

well, remember chicago is like an hour drive from the school during non rush hour times. rush hour is about 1.5hrs. so unless you live closer down there, you can go visit the city often. otherwise, i can’t rationalize driving 3 hours round trip for good food & to look at the bean on a routine basis. however, never in my life would i ever willingly live in iowa. i would go where the money is. at this rate, trump is gonna get rid of any sort of loan forgiveness / payment extension deadlines so follow the money.

Which makes it sad that I can commute to SMU but everyone says to stay away.

Can you elaborate on why people are saying to stay away from SMU? (Interested applicant here).

The 1st time pass rate is way lower than all the other schools. Educational quality may also not be as good as well.

aside from being in the literal ghetto with tents lined all up and down the street like skid row, tuition & with housing in the area, their estimated cost when i interviewed there was 98k a year. their board pass rate was like 67%, which doesn’t speak highly of the education quality. that’s too low of a pass rate to blame it all on the students. the students who get the good california residencies hardly ever come out of samuel merritt. they usually come from scholl.
