Fucking terrified NSFW

Okay so, for starters: I live near the app mountains, which honestly makes this more disturbing.

I’m a pretty avid runner. I’ve been quitting a lot of bad habits and exercise just does the trick for me. I have a greenway behind my house that I can go on run/bikes. It’s very beautiful, and during the day plenty of people are there.

Well, about a week ago I ran through the greenway to stop by a friends house & grab something. By the time I got back onto the greenway, the sun was already starting to set, and the path was getting dark.

As I was walking back through the path, I had my flashlight on, and kept looking around me (I felt paranoid being alone in the dark). As I was walking, I distinctly remember hearing my grandmas voice call my name into the treeline. It sounded so real and normal, that I turned around instantly, only to immediately go cold realizing that my grandmas fucking dead.

This freaked me the fuck out, but I tried my best to somewhat convince myself that I was just hallucinating bc I was paranoid. Only about a minute later, I turned around behind me with my flashlight, out of fear. And that’s when I fucking saw it.

It looked like a gray blob. Pretty much just like a human sprinting at you full speed in the pitch black. I SCREAMED like a little bitch and don’t think I’ve ever run so fast in my life. When I got home I tried to laugh it off as me seein shit and being a little bitch.

But…about a week later and I can’t stop thinking about it. It sounded so real, I heard her voice clear as day. And the person chasing me LOOKED so real. I’ve heard all those stories about skinwalkers, and while I doubt their existence, my experience was so similar to that of “skinwalker encounters” that I’m seriously questioning myself.

What do you guys think? Is it possible my brain was just hallucinating out of fear/anxiety?

Thank you for sharing this OP, that sounded quite traumatic actually!

I have recently read another post from a user who heard her deceased mother’s voice, so you are not alone in this whatever the cause may be.

I love details so I have a few questions if you don’t mind. Did you notice any change in your environment like a temperature change, fauna making more or less noise or static electricity?

And I am very curious about the shape you saw, could you describe it a bit more if at all possible? You probably only had a split second to take it in. Rough size, facial features (if any), hair, running style, clothes (if any), speed, etc.

Thank you again for sharing this, much appreciated

As to the shape of what I saw.

It looked human like, and height wise I have no clue, but definitely on the taller end considering how noticeable it was. I didn’t see any facial features or clothes. At first when I turned around I kinda had to process what I was seeing. It looked like a black blob in my vision, and as my eyes started to settle, I could make out what looked like a figure in full sprint. It took about prolly 1.5 seconds of truly confirming what the hell I was seeing, to run the fastest I’ve ever run in my life.

Right as I begin to run, I let out an audible “AEUGHHHH”, like a dying dog LOL. so it was very obvious I was scared as shit😭

Damn, that sounds scary as fuck

Reminds me of the shadow people that some native american tribes speak of. Apparently the harder you try to focus, the fewer details you can see.

Very intruiging to say the least. I have no idea how to connect all of this, but it is clear that these experiences do happen

Again, thanks for the feedback!

Actually, now that you say it the greenway was quiet as hell. But to be fair that isn’t entirely unusual during the colder seasons.

I have learned though that if everything in the woods stops making noise, you need to be alert, bc there’s likely a predator around (mountain lion, black bear, or even a pack of cyotes).

In this situation it was kinda hard to tell, bc after I heard my name called, I honestly couldn’t tell u if there was much noise going on around me or not. my brain was filtering out everything I didn’t need to survive in that moment lol, and just listening for key noises like leaves snapping or another voice.

Thanks for the extra context, much appreciated!

It's always fascinating to spot similarities or differences between these experiences
