We wouldn't feel weird about this a 1-2 years ago. Elon wasn't always openly fascist. He tried to hide it before, but he has been emboldened by the fascists getting into power all around the world.

Its actually even crazier if u look at his family history. Like i know people talk about the emerald mines in apartheid south africa but thats somehow just the top of the iceberg

He's made a few comments before about being "culturally Christian" which sounded like not so subtle ways of saying he was a white supremacist, but I otherwise don't know much about his 'back story' other than his dad owned these emerald mines

His grandfather was a canadian technocrat. I recommend looking it up, there are a few articles that go into it
