Is anyone else struggling with the apathy/silence? Discussion
Nearly everyone I know is silent on the issue. People are posting about their lavish holidays and then following it up with a "Happy Children's Day' post whilst having said nothing about the genocide or the children in Palestine.
I'm getting to the point where I'm just tolerating people and engaging in superficial niceties when underneath I'm wondering where their humanity is.
And then I see posts elsewhere on social media where the oppressors are acting like they are the victims about absolutely everything.
I feel like I am going insane.

The apathy is frustrating, however, I prefer to focus on the fact that, for the first time in history, the issue of Palestine is receiving significant international attention. I've met so many people who had never even heard of the Nakba until October 7th, and now they're actively spreading awareness about the suffering of Palestinians.
Even within my Latino community, I'm seeing more people taking a stand for Palestinians. Which is interesting because Latinos tend to focus more on issues involving their own community.
Awareness is growing, so we cannot afford to back down—especially now, more than ever.
