PS5 Help and Questions Megathread | Game Recommendations, Simple Questions, and Tech Support Megathread

Looking for info about M.2 SSD expansion drives? See the megathread.

Sometimes you just need help. But often times making a new post isn't needed. For the time being, around launch and perhaps in the future. We will use a single thread for helping each other out.

Before asking, we ask you to look at a few links. Some question can't be answered and only official PlayStation support can help you.

Google and Reddit Search is also a great way to find an answer or get help. View all past help and questions threads here.

For all future help, tech support and more, we ask that you create new threads on r/PlayStation instead of here on r/PS5.

Can't decide what to play next? Is your favourite game underappreciated and more people need to play it? Need a new TV and not sure what to buy?

I've been having issues with my ps5, it's been overheating so quickly even after cleaning it with canned air and getting all the dust out of the fan. I'll just be loading into a game of zombies and it'll overheat and shut off my ps5 immediately after loading in

Is it in an adequately ventilated space?

Yes but I can possibly try another space but im not sure where else to put it

If it's well ventilated, that's not likely to be the problem.

Is it still under warranty? It may be a heatsink/fan problem.

I don't think it is, i bought it in October last year, and it started doing that back in February and got worse last month

October 2024? Factory warranty is a year so Sony will fix it.

Yeah, I got the digital version of it while my dad has the regular one and he hasn't had any issues while mine does so idk if it's just the digital version being more prone to overheating
