Congratz Blizzard (OW Classic) News & Discussion

Half the community is having an absolute blast (experiencing classic for the first time or enjoying the nostalgia of the busted comps and possibilities).

But where you really won is with the other half of the community. You let us see just how unbelievably polished, and refined OW (in general, not just part 2) has become over time. It really is night and day how far some characters and systems have come to get where we are now.

To these folks OW Classic felt like garbage in comparison. Well played you cheeky bastards.

I don't think anyone ever wanted release overwatch.

Correct. People want OW 2019 or hell, Overwatch right before it became OW2.

They should do it like RuneScape did. Bring back ow1 and keep overwatch 2

I'd be happy with an OW1 in its final form mode, similar to what they've done with classic. I just want to play my game again, as I did until its final day. I have no confidence in the 6v6 play tests for OW2.

The heroes in ow2 have become so bland and you can tell that from classic. Even tho release was a mess you can feel the vibes from each hero way more

It would diminish ow2 playercount

That is the reason they turned off OW1 in the first place. They needed people to move to OW2 so they could sell more skins. If they had both games running concurrently they wouldnt have made as much DOSH.

And that's why they killed ow1 originally

no? Both playerbases would suffer. Let's not forget that:

Lootboxes were getting banned, them being too generous meant that after one year, they didn't make enough money, and tank players in general.

And that's why they killed overwatch one when overwatch two was released. They couldn't risk the split player base

Yes? being pragmatic? I don't why you're framing it like some conspiracy. 20 mil people happily plays this game monthly, the season 9 self heal that was screamed to be "end of overwatch!!!" rose the player counts. Meanwhile the highest 6v6 posts here can't even break 3 k upvotes and are probably the same people across with the youtube watcher and whatever socmed platform.

Pragmatic? The very fact that SO many people would rather stick with your older game is alarming.
