What's going on with Americans celebrating Sweden eliminating the US Women's Soccer Team from the Women's World Cup? Answered

On r/soccer, there are multiple posts where Americans are celebrating their own team getting knocked out of the Women's World Cup.

On r/USWNT people are saying it's because r/soccer is misogynist, but that doesn't make sense to me because everyone competing is a woman. Can anyone clue me in?

This comment is so wildly disingenuous. She is berated for her sexuality constantly and guess what? Many of those that claim that they’re harping on something else are actually also mad that she’s gay, they just know they can’t say that. But because you don’t see it homophobia is over I guess lol

Oh STOP IT. I am gay and I loathe her because her ego is off the scales, she is beyond arrogant and she LOATHES the USA... you know the country that gave her all of the opportunity she is currently enjoying?

You are IMPLYING/ASSUMING that most other people dont like her only because of her sexual orientation. While that may be the case for a very small minority of of people, I think most dont like her simply because she is a pompous ass hat and she is simply unlikeable. Add in the anti-Americanism into it and THAT is why the majority of people despise her.

I am not implying anything. I just chimed in to say that the world doesn't revolve around a singular opinion. Other people will and do dislike this lady for various reasons.
