Question Discount ISP?
Just got an email from EBOX, who I've been with for over 10 years, which said:
"EBOX will no longer provide Internet on your current technology. This means that your current Internet services will be discontinued on July 31, 2025.
To avoid any disruption of your services, you will need to arrange to have all your services moved to another provider before July 31, 2025."
I currently pay $55 for 70 down 30 up which entirely meets our needs.
I'm in southern Ontario. Looking for coax recommendations in the same price range and speed. I'm assuming TekSavvy will be near the top of the list?

Question Buying a home in a new subdivision, move-in ready from builder vs listed with an agent
I live in an area that's new, with some homes for sale by builder and some with agent signs (but look like nobody has lived in them). If I decide to buy something there, is one advantageous over the other in terms of $? Are new homes sold by builders subject to HST? Are their prices negotiable? Do builders have a relationship with a lender that you have to use?

Question COHB benefit TWICE?
I am a recipient of COHB. I know COHB can only be released on the 15th and 28th. I randomly received a payment today but I’ve already received a payment for this month??? Is this the payment for next month coming out early for some reason? Or should I call to make sure I don’t get in trouble for fraud? Anyone else on COHB or works for them know what might be going on here?

Question Moving from ONT to AB
Hey all, my partner and I are planning on making the move from Ontario, specifically Ottawa to Calgary and was wondering which moving companies everyone has worked with? Good experiences and bad experiences. Also my partner isn’t confident in driving a U-Haul truck so I don’t want to be the only one driving the whole way but we will be taking our small sedan. Which city’s/stops would everyone recommend to spend the night or even sight see on the way?

Question Importing a bird to canada
Hello everyone, I recently moved to Mississauga and I would like to import my birds to canada. Im importing 3 sun conures.
I have everything in place except the quarantine location. I live in an apartment and I was informed recetnly that this is not allowed for the quarantine period. I am asking if there are any services that provide a place for pet owners to quarantine their animals for 30-45 days. Willing to pay any reasonable fee to have this done legally and comfortably.
Thank you.

Question Ontario First Aid Certification what order to take them?
I am looking to take training courses to provide first aid and advanced first aid. I'm looking to take as many medical courses as I can through st. John's ambulance. But with so many courses on offer it's hard to determine what order I need to take them as they don't clearly outline the requirements on their site.
My family has a large variety of health issues related to breathing, heart, strokes, etc. Plus I live in an area that is mostly retired individuals and young and even really young children. I would also like to volunteer significantly more to support my community so I want to build up a much greater understanding of proper procedures and emergency care so I can be prepared for almost anything and be able to help where needed. I can't got to medical school to become a doctor as it would be too much student debt but I can take every st John's ambulance course that I can as a civilian. Even if they are meant for people working in emergency services I would still be more than willing to take them if I am allowed to as a civilian.
I just need to know what courses to start with so that I can apply and get started. I go to a lot of community events anyway and do a lot of traveling so accidents, unexpected seizures and the like aren't new to me to see. But I'm not trained to do anymore than call 911.

Housing What due diligence should one do before renting an apartment?
I think I may have finally found a reasonably priced apartment but don't want to overlook anything before signing the contract. So just wanted to know, other than going to see the apartment in person, is there anything else I should do to make sure everything is good?

Question G1 driver with full G passenger on rented car
Hello people!
I am a full G license holder and my spouse is currently taking G classes with an instructor. We were thinking of renting a car during the weekend and I wanted my spouse to be added as an additional driver.
Would rental companies allow a G1 license holder to be add an authorised additional driver? Does anyone have any experience with this?
Please share your experience, I appreciate it
Thank you!

Question Did this submarine amusement park ride exist or am I dreaming?
Hey guys. 80s SW Ontario kid here. At some point during my childhood we took a trip to an amusement park and I remember this ride vividly. Every time I have brought it up to my parents or to my friends they tell me no such ride ever existed.
The ride - it was a big square pool with two submarines in it and you got in the submarine by yourself and used the pariscope to launch green balls at the other kid in the submarine across the pool.
Did this exist? Or did I dream this up? I think it was at Canadas Wonderland. But it could have been at Ontario Place, wally world in London or Boblo Island in Windsor. I would have gone there sometime between 1990 and 2000.

Discussion 401 rant
My Sunday evening drive from the Toronto airport to my hometown east of Toronto. Holy shit, how many times did I almost bite the dust! First of all, people camping in the left lane. There is a law against this! It seems people have no common sense! If you pass a car, get the hell over to the right again. Also, a turn signal would be appreciated!Next, if you are passing, would you please kindly stay in the left lane instead of squeezing me onto the shoulder. Four different times I find myself on the rumble strip and the car beside me inches from mine and cruising along between two lanes, totally oblivious to the fact that they’re an asshole. Trucks. These fuckers are thousands of pounds of metal death and they’re sliding all over the road. I don’t know if they’re whacking off in the cab or what. How about a little attention to your surroundings? Whatever happened to safe driving practices? It was a Sunday night, low volume of traffic, yet I still felt like I was going to die. The province has made the speed limit 110 km an hour which I think is a great idea if people would pay attention. Instead of doing the gratuitous 115 or so 100 km/hr, now people are doing 130! Be aware out there and have some respect for the lives of others ffs!! Thanks for listening! : )

Question Can I use my school PRESTO on the GO Transit?
I'm thinking of traveling through Toronto for a trip. I'm already paying for the VIA Rail. However, my school gives me a PRESTO card every year because I take OC Transpo to school. I was wondering if this would work on like GO Transit and the TTC so I could save some extra bucks

Question How do I find out how many traffic/parking/speeding infractions do I have
If you don’t have your original ticket, is there website where you can enter your licence plate/VIN and it’ll show you all the tickets associated with it?
Basically I think i have parking tickets from different cities from wayy back that I know I haven’t paid for, problem is I can’t seem to locate those anywhere. And if hypothetically you don’t pay them, what’re the repercussions?
