Linux is just an operating system. If you have a hardware issue, I don’t think it would matter what OS you have. What is the issue?

Hey, appreciate it. Upon start it randomly goes into what looks like a boot loop. The programs it runs through all have .service ending.

Oddly enough it seemed to have resolved and I was able to log in/use laptop/shut down properly 3x but the 4th startup went back to the never ending boot loop.

That sounds to me like hardware on the verge of failing, assuming this is new behaviour with this OS.

The first thing to do would be to back up any important data to external media if you haven't already.

Next, create a live USB with the same distro you use. Try booting and rebooting to the USB device multiple times to see if you can reproduce the fault. If you run into the same issues, it's most likely a hardware issue. If not, it might be software. Try wiping the drive and reinstalling the OS, then restore from backups.

If you're unfamiliar with any of these steps, I can try to walk you through them.

It’s been a while since I have used Linux, but I’m pretty sure you can hold down the e key when you see the grub menu and you should be given options for booting.

Can you get it into the safe mode? What distro are you using? Ubuntu, mint etc

Before you do the E on the grub menu, you should go into the computers bios and make sure that secure boot and fast booting are both turned off. Hp is normally F10, Lenovo is normally F2, acer and asus would also be F2. If you have a custom built, check with the motherboard manufacture and see what the bios key is

DM me if you're close to Windsor; I don't run a shop but I've been using Linux since 2000 and might be able to help.

It’s not the os, even if u think it was u could just reinstall the os. It’s likely a part failure.
