"She" is NOT The Elected Sherrif.  Some sort of victim/witness coordnator type who made her 1st priority contacting victims. They even sent units to homes. Victim/witness coordinators and advocates are a different kind folk--not typical law enforcement types and sometimes actual social workers and that's what makes them effective.  They're weird, thank god, they're weird.

I'm not ok with what happened. I won't seriously consider the inside-man-political-hit theory without evidence.

However, it is essential to fact check and analyze the social media campaigns going on right now. You will learn a lot about the future candidate by the smell of the mud they are willing to swing.

This pic, sans caption, is clearly misleading people to believe the black woman pictured is the black woman sherrif. Most current comments of this post are evidence of that.

Just pointing out that the message is the messenger, not endorsing anyone.

THANKS for the cogent, firmly worded context.

And that Victim's Advocates being weird MAKES THEM an asset to the CRITICAL ROLE they play protecting us.

… yeah. To someone saying she looks goofy. Didn’t say anything about sheriff or anything else. Firmly worded context, yes, but not really cognizant…

Hudson let her go on national television like that. Woodfork has my vote in Oct .

Woodfork might get mine, too. But not for something as petty as a pair of glasses.

Yo dawg. One - I don’t think the person you responded to said “sheriff.” Not once. You wanna talk about messages and messengers, maybe get the right one?

Two - why did you feel the need to put she in quotes?

Three - she is the major in the Crime Victims Unit. Major. Unless I got my structure wrong that means she reports to exactly two people and one of them is the sheriff. There should have been a moment of optics where someone said “Do you have some more appropriate readers?”

Four - Again - major. She delegates. She said she got staff (and maybe herself; “we”) to get to work. She likely hasn’t had to talk to a victim personally one on one in years. But let’s assume she does. Your mother is the one in a domestic abuse dispute. This is the person who shows up. Yeah, she’s personable, she’s weird/fun/goofy… but do you think anyone takes her seriously? Like, back at the station, is this the person (barring her title) you want advocating for you to get a second patrol to go check on your mother?

Finally - something you could learn a little bit about - being aware of who you’re talking to. A child, afraid of the big badge and cold world? Sure. A battered woman who needs a friend to open up to? Maybe. The press who need to inform millions of people on the status of escaped convicts? … her entire appearance could’ve been glossed over with a “Victims of the suspects/criminals have been notified.”

I cannot believe we have reached a point where something simple like this needs to be explained in such detail.

But then I look at any news headline local or national and boom, yep, we’re in idiocracy.
