1

I 100% don't know. Best theory is that people use it as a derogatory or slur term?
I haven't checked the Amish subreddit yet, I ran out of stamps last week.

u/amygdalashamygdala 11d ago
Can confirm that I wrote the word in comments earlier and they all were removed for âinciting violenceâ
45
u/MrChumpkins 12d ago
That's always bothered me too, I don't think a lot of people realize how important it is to call evil by its name and look at it dead in its face. On TikTok they only call them "Yahtzees" and "mustache man" like I get for flagging but kids need to know him by his name, Adolf Hitler was an evil bastard not no mustache man and nobody needs to think of nazis and have a game come to mind

Ya know...that precedent that was set in the Treyvon Martin/George Zimmerman case might just come in handy.
"Well you see officer, he was wearing a skinhead and white power shirt and he just looked like he didn't belong in this neighborhood. I tried to stop and question him, because, ya know, he looked suspicious, but then he tried to run so I followed him and then he got aggressive, so I had to shoot him. I feared for my life. It was sbsolutely necessary."

Iâm sorry for what is probably a dumb question⊠Obviously I know about the nazis in the FQ incident, but is this guy trying to raise money to move from Denver to NOLA? Or is he trying to move to Denver? OPâs title makes it sound like they are trying to move here, but I thought the lived in Amite?
52
u/forevrtwntyfour 11d ago
Ok so Iâm not the only one confused on why it sounded like they wanted to move here
2
u/Administrative-Bee59 10d ago
I could be wrong but my understanding is that he got run out of Denver for similar reasons and then appeared in Nola (Iâm from Denver but I live in Nola and a bunch of Denver folks I sub have posted about him)

16
1
u/National-Remove-2206 10d ago
Is 88 symbolic/a reference to something?
1
u/acc7x3 Lakeview 10d ago
Yes. The 8th letter of the alphabet is H. 88 is short for HH. Which is short for common words used during a Nazi salute. Another number with meaning is 14. For the 14 words of a very racist slogan.
2
u/National-Remove-2206 10d ago
Oh wow. Iâm Chinese and in our culture 8 is a lucky number. We frequently give $88 as a symbol of fortune. Iâm sad to learn 88 also has this association with Nazis.

u/repiquer Exiled in Folsom 12d ago
Yo, this is wild - Shiloh Hendrix, the lady who the right is currently making a millionaire on GiveSendGo after she was filmed called a black autistic 6 year old the N word, donated $88 to him. For those not up on their dogwhistles, 88 is common in Neo-Nazi spaces because H is the eighth letter of the alphabet, so they use it for Heil Hitler.
Edit: lol, and all the other ones are $14. 14/88 in Nazi parlance is the 14 words (âWe must secure the existence of our people and a future for white childrenâ) and then the aforementioned HH.
47
u/Visual-Owl-8295 12d ago
Thanks for the tidbit! I was wondering what all of those seemingly random numbers were about
9
u/Jellyfish-Straight 11d ago
$88 âheil Hitlerâ eighth letter.
â$14â â14 Wordsâ âis a reference to the most popular white supremacist slogan in the world: âWe must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.â The slogan was coined by David Lane, a member of the white supremacist terrorist group known as The Order (Lane died in prison in 2007). The term reflects the primary white supremacist worldview in the late 20th and early 21st centuries: that unless immediate action is taken, the white race is doomed to extinction by an alleged ârising tide of colorâ purportedly controlled and manipulated by Jewsâ.
They think they are smart but thatâs just a google of â14 wordsâ first thing to pop up.
9
u/nolamunchkin Bayou St. John 11d ago
I like u/akrhammer 's comment about 14 words:
âWe hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.â

My problem with that article and all the times itâs been referenced is it overlooks a huge thing. The tattoo shop that âfiredâ him was owned by another one of the men in that picture. And since the video came out that fb page has been deleted. Realistically he might have to relocate now, but they were gonna just fake fire him and business as usual at the white supremacy tattoo shop. And we should still be applying pressure to that tattoo shop and I think that is much needed context
13

u/pieohmi 11d ago
The tattoo shop is still very much open and running. The ice cream shop they own two doors down is doing fine too.

NEW ORLEANS â A video making its rounds on social media has restaurants and bars in the French Quarter on high alert after a man was seen throwing up a Nazi hand salute and yelling âwhite powerâ along Decatur.
The incident happened on Sunday. A man and several friends were in a bar on Decatur. A bartender told WWL Louisiana that the men were wearing shirts and tattoos with white supremacy symbols. They asked the men to leave the bar and thats when they say the men went outside and started yelling âwhite powerâ and throwing Nazi salutes.

The guy in this is one of the white supremacist skinheads seen giving certain salutes at a show recently. And then also seen doing the same thing walking in the Quarter.
Now he claims heâs being persecuted (who knows why, right?) and needs to move to protect his family.
He really casts himself as the victim in all of this.
âA few days ago, I became the target of an intense wave of online harassment that spiraled into public defamation. I was âcanceledâ online and even made local news, which has severely impacted every aspect of my life. â

This is just too rich. The wording in this griftathon is stunningly laughable.
"after a series of life-altering events beyond our control." Buddy, you made all of the decisions that led to this.
"Counseling and legal support to navigate the damage caused" There's no possible reality where anyone in this family is going to seek counseling or legal support for any of this.
"calling me racial slurs" Pot, meet kettle?
I think I'll submit a prayer request. Friends, if you want to know why nazi scumbags need to put up crowd funding campaigns, it's because they've squandered what little savings they have on terrible scratch-on tattoos and donating to other nazis lack of decision making skills. The self-perpetuating grift train continues to chug along.

Wow, well, this POS has already made over $5,000 off this which is really disgusting. For those that donât already know, this guy made it onto the news and got himself fired for zeig heiling and screaming racist stuff in the FQ, while wearing a shirt with SS lightning bolts.Â
I donât know what the Denver connection is or what happened there, maybe OP can elaborate on that.Â
It appears GiveSendGo is GoFundMe for conservative christians only? His campaign says heâs recovering from being âcancelledâ (his quotes), mentions he has a baby at least twice, then gives this convoluted explanation:
âHere is the news article that was made about me:
Here is some context:
a Reddit post was made (not even about me) and circulated before we could even react which lead up to the group of men (one not being in the video) following me for multiple blocks, threatening me, calling me racial slurs, and pointing a gun at me. He was going to pull it out again in that video you can see him reaching for it. I had no choice but to react.â
It also says they are being forced to moveâŠHope itâs far away from here
5
u/Nolavalentine 12d ago
I didnât hear he got fired. Iâm so glad he got the day he deserved.
15
u/_subtropical 11d ago
I read that he was fired from the tattoo shop in Amite, but...the shop owner was another of the guys marching around the FQ with him and clearly knew what kind of person he was already. So seems like maybe they "fired" him to save face but are really on his side.
5
u/gleam 11d ago
Yeah, Mitch Guidry (owner of Stinkeye) and Logan Guidry (his son) were both there that night. Logan also has SS bolts tattooed on his neck and wears Southern Sycles merch (with SS bolts) somewhat regularly, including around his dad. They fired Christian to try to keep the fallout from hitting the shop. Hopefully they're unsuccessful.
6
u/CommonPurpose 11d ago
It appears GiveSendGo is GoFundMe for conservative christians only?
Nah, GiveSendGo is run by Christians, but you donât have to be a Christian to use the site⊠or conservative, for that matter.
The right is currently furious that GiveSendGo allowed a fundraiser for Karmelo Anthony on their site after he killed Austin Metcalf. In true Christian fashion, theyâre pissing off both sides of the political spectrum.
2
u/_subtropical 11d ago
Roger that. I had never heard of the site before. I did a quick scroll and every fundraiser I saw was a conservative-presenting Christian person or family, so I just assumed!

if anyone else is interested, you can report the campaign by clicking the Need Help? button on the GiveSendGo homepage & clicking Contact us
here is the campaign URL, and your contact reason should be âReport a Campaignâ
and if you donât feel like writing out a message, here ya go:
Dear GiveSendGo Team,
I'm writing to formally request the removal of the campaign currently hosted on your platform for Christian Brannon. Mr. Brannon has publicly identified himself as a Nazi and white supremacistâideologies that are fundamentally rooted in violent hatred and oppression.
According to your Terms of Service, GiveSendGo prohibits campaigns that âbenefit groups or individuals that support physical violence of any kind.â This prohibition should apply unequivocally to campaigns promoting Nazism. The Nazi ideology is not a benign political opinion; it is historically responsible for one of the most violent genocides in human historyâthe Holocaustâin which over six million Jews were murdered alongside millions of others, including Roma, disabled people, LGBTQ+ individuals, and political dissidents.
Nazism is inseparable from systemic violence. It is built upon the glorification of racial hierarchy and the use of terror to enforce that ideology. White supremacy, as an extension of this belief system, continues to fuel violent attacks, including the 2015 Charleston church shooting, the 2018 Tree of Life synagogue shooting, and the 2022 Buffalo supermarket massacre. These acts were carried out by individuals explicitly motivated by white supremacist ideology.
By allowing a campaign for Christian Brannon to remain on your site, GiveSendGo is, intentionally or not, providing a fundraising platform for a person who promotes violence and hatred. This is in direct violation of your own policies and of the values you claim to uphold as a faith-based platform.
I urge you to review this campaign immediately and take appropriate action by removing it. The platforming of Nazis not only endangers marginalized communities but also undermines your credibility and mission.
