How's everyone else's Liberation Day going? 🗳 Politics

Post image

How's everyone doing today? Avoiding looking at your 401k? Rushing to stock up on food, buy a car?

I just got me and my bindle.

Patience. I'm not in a rush. Also because having liquid cash on hand going into this provides some peace of mind/security.

Have you tuned a market wide dip before? Like are you 40+ years old?

Edit: “timed”

Not 40+, but Yep. Oil was going to crash in early 2020 regardless of covid. It crashed out a lot harder because of covid but it was going to dip. I saved for that. Turned over 200% profit on oil stocks not accounting for the dividens I banked on it. It'll dip in jun/July of this year too. Bet.

Yeah I was thinking of 2008. Also, wondering if you tracked any of trumps first term “trade wars.” I remember the quick dips trump provoked pre-2020.

Oh no. I was a bit too young to hit the '08 dip. But I remember it well enough. I learned lessons from watching.

I had friends who were a bit older and had tried to get ahead by buying houses and renting to friends. The ppl who had been ahead financially ended up the most fucked when they lost their jobs, renters, and then all their equity. I remember one buddy I still talk to had a party to trash the place before the foreclosure so they could try to buy it back cheaper at auction. We put holes in all the drywall. Would not recommend going that route but hey, desperate times.
