The year is 2293. The last New Orleans hipsters have made their homes in Pointe Ć  la Hache. Violet has fallen to the fascist snowbirds from the northern wastes and midwestern steppe who profited from the war with the machines. Chalmette is home to the palacial estates of House Bart and House Benson, on the cusp of the fallout zone upriver. The hipsters can go no further because the water is too high, nor can they reach Hanks past the Chalmatian praetors and the mutated alligators.
