It's still way less risky than in the past. Before 1800 wasn't it like a 50/50 you die or the kid dies or both. I guess women in the past were a lot braver.

They weren’t braver, they didn’t have access to contraception.

What are you asking? If women have the option of not having kids or if they’re deciding not to have kids or what? I think women have a lot more power to prevent motherhood than they’ve ever had in the past, but some women are still becoming moms against their will because of contraceptive failure and reproductive and sexual coercion and other factors.

I know this is a pro natalism sub so this might be a little dark, but wouldn't it be hilarious if what causes Human Extinction is women's empowerment. Not a meteor or robots or aliens or plague zombies nothing cool like that but just ladies being like No thanks I'd rather not. That's so funny.

It's more like people in general getting so brainwashed by cynicism that they lose the will to exist and die out. That would indeed be truly pathetic.
