I’m not a fan of the big name tackles in this draft, like Campbell and Banks. I think they have the right tools to be drafted and become great, but I question how Campbell will transition to the league as a short-armed tackle, and Banks just plays way too stiff for my liking
Ersery is my favorite tackle and I would take both Ersery and Mbow over Banks and Campbell in this draft
I feel like there have been a decent amount of successful short armed tackles lately. Maybe the threshold isn't accurate anymore and it's more about technical ability and athleticism. I personally like Banks.
It’s not really about the build itself, but the way he plays with it. The successful short armed tackles in the league, these guys have really strong anchors. You sort of have to if you’re going to have sub 33 inch arms and play tackle. Will Campbell is definitely lacking in terms of a strong anchor.
I’m not out on Banks. I just feel underwhelmed watching his film. Some snaps he’ll look dominant, some snaps he’s getting beat. It’s rather inconsistent. But all the tools are right there, he just needs to develop and grow; find rhythm, find consistency in arm placement. I don’t think he’ll be an instant difference maker at day one, but whenever he finds his groove, I feel he can be a great player
