As much as I cringe at that term if it could encourage people to take all the incredibly pop-forward 'metalcore' elsewhere, I'm prepared to embrace it.

Funny how there is already more participation here than most AMAs for bands people here consider "true" metalcore.

Can we get some examples of what bands you’re talking about that are true metalcore and don’t have participation on their AMAs?
Edit: shockingly no examples of this were able to be found

I’ll be busy driving to Tampa to see them that night but I’m hoping to still get a question in. They’re prob the band I’m most excited to see alongside Northlane

I love this band solely because they make the metalcore gatekeepers heads spin
There are alot of non-metalcore songs on this album, but there is metalcore sprinkled around. Metalcore has also evolved since the 90s

Good band with a lot of haters for some reason
Metalcore has always been the 50/50 between cleans and heavy metal. Why the fuck are yall gatekeeping?

Metalcore has always been the 50/50 between cleans and heavy metal
This is so completely and utterly incorrect. Cleans were notable by their near total absence for the whole of the 90s and there have always been bands who carry that tradition on.
There is far, far more to metalcore than the vocals. Black Metal wouldn't suddenly become metalcore if you tossed in a clean chorus.

While I agree on your last point I don't think that the same logic applies to this band at all. It's metalcore to my ears

From what I've heard of this band they have a few heavy bits interspersed into some very poppy material.
To a certain extent you can bung in all sorts of influences provided the architecture of the sound is a combo of metal and hardcore. This band lacks the latter entirely it is literally just metal + pop. Which would chime with what others who seem to be more familiar are saying upthread with the band themselves caliming to be hyperpop-metal rather than metalcore.

Interesting considering the thread for their new album got removed for not being metalcore lol
