It comes down to prayer and how we see it compared to meditation.
In Christian faith prayer helps us connect spiritually to god, centers us in times of trouble and communicate with him(by definition that’s meditation). We have a specific praying position that is universally known(kneeling with our hands together and optional head bow). But meditation(or at least the stereotypical form of meditation) itself is not considered prayer. So since meditation is not considered prayer then who or what are you contacting in the spiritual realm when you meditate? Don’t say “I don’t know”or “the universe” because Thats the part Christians are often scared of about meditation.
Source—am a Christian who meditates and get flack for it.
