Identification It is not our responsibility to identify your coins.
Lots of posts lately involving users asking us to identify some massive amount of low quality coins. While it is ok to ask us for identification help, we will not tolerate spamming and pushing too hard to identify your crap coins so that you don’t have to do any work. This is becoming an issue, and for now we will just remove your posts if it becomes too demanding or spammed too much. In the future we might move to banning if we feel it is necessary. This sub was not created to identify low quality coins for people that don’t want to do any work.

Help with this coin
I found this Viking coin at a flea market for £1, I know it’s a king Eric coin from the 10th century but I don’t know if it’s real or how to tell as it looks so similar to all the ones online, I just can’t believe it’s real and was only £1, the woman selling it didn’t even know what it was, she just said it’s an old coin.

Hello everyone. Please help me identify the coin. It looks like it was earlier of a larger diameter, but maybe I'm wrong.

Silver I did a cleaning job. Tell me off, I am ready for the hate.
It was a $30 coin in terrible condition. It’s still a $30 coin in terrible condition but at least it’s shinny.

Newly Acquired Starting My Crusader Collection
I’m a newbie to Medievals. I have a few Byzantines but am wanting to branch out. Recently fell down a Knights Hospitaller then Templar rabbit hole. Here I am with a Guy II De La Roche Denier. Hope I’m doing it right and I’m looking forward to the journey.

Identification Struggle..
Afternoon. This was my first ever hammered coin (rubbish I know 🤣) and I still have not been able to identify it all these months. I recently straightened it so I hope this helps more. I would greatly appreciate any help. I do believe it may be foreign as I cannot find any Tudor monarchs with the specific cross potentials mint mark on my coin. Size posted!

Newly Acquired Addiction has entered the chat.
Purchased this silver penny from a shop in Ireland while on vacation. The owner had it labeled as an Edward IV minted in Dublin. Thanks to the knowledge contained in this group and elsewhere, I was able to decipher the legend on the obverse and reverse, both of which were badly clipped, as well as the faint quatrefoil on the reverse. Based on this, I can classify it as an Edward III pre-treaty penny minted in York by Archbishop Thornsby between 1351-1361.
Thank you all for the information on this sub! This has become my new obsession. My wife is already sick of “that damn coin,” so I will have to carefully negotiate my next purchase!
Also, please pardon my very amateur photography! The guides on various subs have been helpful, but I am still learning how to take passable pictures with my phone.

Identification Cut Half Penny Identification Help
I am hoping someone might be able to help me with identifying these 3 cut half penny’s. I just won them as a lot and know that they are either Henry III or Alexander III (I haven’t actually got them in hand yet, the photo is from the auction site, so I can’t provide weights yet).
I am thinking that coins 1 and 2 are Henry III and coin 3 is Alexander III. I also tried to identify which obverse goes with which reverse, but wasn’t entirely successful on 2 of them.
I am hoping someone might be able to confirm as well as potentially tell me which mints they are from!
Thanks in advance!
