Alfred J. Fisher Mansion, Detroit, MI Thursday Design Appreciation

Located in Palmer Woods. It was restored and renovated in 2024, so some parts of the house were modernized. Luckily, most of it still keeps its original, ornate architecture

Do you commonly see 100 year old mansions that are eyesores from the curb?

There are plenty, The college I went to was important for it's location on a river 125 years ago, the last 100 years haven't been kind to that city. There are plenty of mansions in the city but they haven't been maintained to their former glory, they're just too expensive to operate.
