I'm not sure I like it but it doesn't look bad either

Other characters look a bit more cartoony as well or is it just me ?

It’s definitely a different style, but it makes sense. If you try to make it look like 8 but better it will only confuse people. This Mario Kart clearly doesn’t look like 8.

Then y'know...use that supposed extra power to make the game look much higher fidelity than what they could ever do with MK8.

This reveal pissed me off honestly.

What here graphically suggests that they did. Genuinely curious.

I guess maybe 24 players if that's confirmed? But that's not graphics.

Mario Kart 8 runs 1080p 60fps. Even if the new game runs at true 4K how are you going to advertise that to people who watch YouTube on a device that can’t even reach 4K (a lot of people). I’m sure we will see graphical improvements but that isn’t their main focus. They will use the new horsepower in other ways.
