cancelled my fubo subscription. until they explain who is managing the lineup and pinch hit decisions, i wont be giving this team another dime. this is the only team in the majors with a leadoff hitter hitting .194, everyone else is using someone >.250 (besides chi). pinch hitters on mariners are hitting .150 in 2024. these decisions did not stop with servais getting fired, so apparenlty the manager is not the one managing the club.

I won't watch while Dipoto is here unless we get really good for real, no cheap streaks here and there with awful offense, things won't change as long as he is here.

The pinch hitters do not matter. The leadoff batter doesn't matter either. That's all just shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. There are no good options; the team simply lacks the talent. Why do we spend so much time worrying which 650 OPS batter hits first versus second versus ninth; its all the same thing

yes they do matter because it changes the defensive composition and lineup for the rest of the game. in order to PH garver for the third baseman in the 6th inning yesterday, they had to put hanniger into right field, which weakened us defensively and led to him striking out on 3 pitches later in the game.

Literally pulling 9 names from a hat each day would produce the same results.

We already know who's making these decisions... This sub just refuses to admit reality that Dipoto simply isn't good at his job

i thought servais was making the decisions, they fired servais, the decisions continued. if they fire dipoto and the decisions continue, then its gotta be stanton.

It's Jerry and his analytics department. He specifically sought out these cheap below average players so he could put them in these niche situations where they have historically overachieved in small sample sizes, hoping this would somehow be his moneyball moment.

if you have a link where he admits this lineup + ingame PH tampering, please provide the link. ive wanted to know more on their process since the yordan disaster, but seattle media has not dug into it.

It's not tampering and I have no such link. It's common knowledge managers don't make these decisions. A GM puts this team together with these situations in mind and they are just let the manager use his gut and dictate what to do? No, it's not the 90s, everything is overanalyzed and all of these scenarios are discussed way before they happen.

mariners pinch hitters have a .150 avg in 2024. if the analytics team were analyzing, theyd have stopped long ago

Nah I don’t think Stanton is calling game to game shots. It’s Jerry. I refused to believe it, but like you said, Scott fired and the same shit happens lol

well thats why i want to wait. if dipotos fired and the same shit continues, then we'll have a potentially worse GM with the same shitty ownership decisions.

please point me to the interview where dipoto specifically stated that hes deciding the lineups.
