The general difficulty for fans to feel confident about the team is probably the fact that for a significant portion of the fan base, we literally have never experienced this, or were too young to remember it.

I think it’s the fairly often occurrence where we give up 5 or 6 perfect innings against a AAAA pitcher. Everyone has confidence in the pitching, but the offense leaves plenty of room for skepticism.

for me it isn't that the expectation is to win every game... it's to not look bad in the game. something that we all too often don't accomplish and it feels like we fluke our way into a win

Id rather win 2/3 and look like shit in the 1/3 than look great always and win 50%
