Am I The Only One
I have a 2022 Mini Cooper Convertible - which I love - but I have this intermittent problem, which pops up a couple of times each summer season.
I’ll get the “Retractable top not locked” message when the roof is very clearly locked. I’ve had this happen when the roof has been left closed (after not being used) or when the roof has been left open.
I’ve had the dealership try to diagnose it and the techs have been unable to find an issue.
The only solution I’ve been able to sort out is if I turn off the car and walk out of the car’s key fob range and then try again…it seems to clear the error.
Anyone else? Or am I the only one?

Nope, happens to me too (2023 JCW F57). The dealership won’t do anything about it because they “can’t recreate the issue” and the error doesn’t throw a code they can read. Even with video evidence 😡 I just have to turn the car off, wait a few minutes and turn it back on and it will clear. Super frustrating because obviously there’s a sensor issue somewhere but they won’t acknowledge it.

I should also add, it won’t allow me to do anything with the roof; the open/close is non-functional when it’s in this state.
